A no-go romantic flick

One of the worst movies I watched and so far the only to give me a headache - Valentine's Day!

The film began with a few bed scenes that probably would appeal to those in for a romantic flick... After which came a series of couple mismatch and disappointments, and nasty surprises where the most attractive men are actually homosexual? The film ended with someone actually goes for his best friend, and all the girls turned up for the anti-Valentine's dinner... There's a couple of good laugh but overall a big disappointment and nothing compared to Love Actually which I could watch over and over again. The best thing about it? They roped in all the stars but unfortunately the movie did not live up to its expectation.

I wonder if it's me or this romantic film just further puts me off dating. Save your money and buy your girlfriend a fanciful scoop of ice cream instead!

Verdict: 1.5/5

虎年 - Year of Tigga

It's officially the Tiger year since 14th February 00:00.

And to think that my little sister also turned 2 of a dozen on the same day! Happy Birthday 小妹! Happy Valentine's too!

It was said to be an awesome year for Roosters (especially in the love aspect after a few years of disastrous love life)... Though I rather choose to believe in myself than pinning all the hope on what the fortune-tellers or horoscopes say...

缘分?是多一点缘?还是多一点粪?Some friends found this tagline I wrote funny... but it just came to my mind! Is it more "shit" than "fate" in what you people called FATE? It makes no sense to someone who doesn't understand Mandarin, because it's a little word play... but to some people whom do understand Mandarin, they don't quite get it too. So I guess, I'm the only one who is able to understand what I am saying.

There's so much to hope for this year and so much I want to make it come true... Let's all work towards it instead of relying it on the "lucky year" because no one is going to help if we aren't going to help ourselves!

I have gradually lost interest in many things I used to love in the past, or probably I have just shifted my priorities and beliefs. Tigga year is going to be a good one, yes for everyone who believe in it! I am also certain that all things are better this year. 放“虎”过来吧!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR TO YOU!

Farewell stranger

There was a commotion downstairs this evening. Someone fell out of the window or maybe it was suicide. Lots of people were standing around busybodying, the police cornered off the area, the ambulance came and left. The person is dead. But I don't think we know him/her even though he/she was living under the same block. It's freaky to realise someone just "jumped" off at the place you're living in!

Ich bin krank :(

I feel like there's a pebble in my nostrils. I feel like there's a spider crawling at the end of my tongue. I feel my heavy eyelids. I feel my body numbed from the stale air in the air-conditioned room. I can sense my throat is dry, and no matter how much water I drank, it just couldn't moisturize it. I feel like my right nostril can blow a bubble, like those you make from bubble gum. I feel I have to push my breath harder to get my oxygen in and carbon dioxide out. I feel my toes wringing. I feel restless. I feel like if I close my eyes, I can go into deep sleep almost immediately. I feel like my mind is like an entangled ball of ropes, there is almost no way to unknot. I feel like I haven't slept for ages. I feel sick. And perhaps what's what I'm doing, falling sick.

1st February
Lob-Xi Fatt Cai dinner @ Manhattan Fish Market, Plaza Singapura.

A sumptuous meal to welcome the new year of Tiger.

One fine day, I was on my way to work or was it the other way round, someone handed me a piece of trash. First glance at it, there was this bowl of seafood accompanied with calamari and fries. It looked good, and the price was even better, at $28.80++, 1 for 1. It sure caught my attention. Another fine afternoon, I decided to look online for the location of the restaurants. It was a lucky day! I spotted their online promotion, it was almost identical to the pamphlet except for one thing. They are having a special deal on 1st February, 7-9pm, at all restaurants for $18.80++, 1 for 1. Imagine having lobster, fish, calamari, rice and chips on the plate for that amount of money??? Can you believe it? I couldn't and so I rang and put my name down on the waiting list.

Monday came. I reminded all the attendees about the dinner, because the absentee shall be punished with guilt from missing such a good deal. When we arrived, the place was packed, the queue was already piling very quickly. I told them I had my name on the waiting list but I saw all the names on the waiting list being crossed out! Fortunately we were still on the priority of the queue and got a table soon after. We waited quite a bit for the food but drinks were served promptly and all I can say is, the Lob-Xi Fatt Cai meal was so damned worth the wait! I would have ordered a second if my stomach had the extra capacity! I had imagined that the food wasn't going to be as representable as it was on the ad but I was proved wrong. Even though that was 10 dollars off the promotion, we weren't given any less than as advertised.

Manhattan Fish, keep it up!!!

You did a wonderful promotion, and a very delicious dinner... It's certainly worth a second visit anytime!

Talking about it, wonder if I shall elaborate on the food? Well, I have said it's so worth the wait and money, I guess that would have said a lot. To top it off, the lobsters served were fresh and the meat was juicy... the accompanying sauce makes the whole experience even better. Mine wasn't as red as I would like but it was equally tasty! It filled us up pretty much, there was rice, calamari, fries and 3 pieces of fish which were crispy to the very last of the breadcrumb!

p.s: I'll put up a picture soon ;)
