I learned this.
Reluctantly.
Somehow this might be true. Or maybe it is really true. For someone so impatient like me, waiting is a torture. This has derived from my daily experience, and it was shopping (believe it or not).
3 months ago, I stepped into Zara... without any intention to buy. I spotted this grey jacket (windbreaker), the moment I tried it on, I fell in love with it. But the only thing that stopped me was the price (S$149.90). I have never bought a piece of clothing that expensive in SINGAPORE (don't mention Europe/London because of the different currencies). I put it back with a heavy heart. It wasn't that I couldn't afford, it wasn't that I didn't want it, I just couldn't bear to get it.
I thought over it for a night or two... It fits me perfectly and it could be the right one for me - a worthy investment which will last long. I made up my mind, returned to the store. To my dismay, it wasn't there anymore!! They must have sold it all. I left, very disheartened and told myself the next time I see something that fits me perfect, I should hesitate no more.
Last evening, I went down to Zara's first day of SALE. To my amaze, I found it right there. Hanging against the middle of the wall, it was on sale. S$99.90. Without any hesitation, I took it down and tried it on again and again and again... You wouldn't believe how ridiculous I can be... LOL. It fits me, it makes me glow, it makes me happy... and YES I BOUGHT IT.
If it is meant to be, it is. But it is still in your hands if you grab that chance the first time round, it might never come back again... it might, only if you're lucky enough or is that thing you called it "fated to be".
I totally love it :))

A sweet treat
The donut frenzy is not over... But there's something newer or even as tempting as the sweet, deep-fried piece of dough. Welcome Chewy JR (click here)!
Chewy JR is what I called a fusion between the fanciful donut (e.g. Donut factory, Donut Empire, Munchy Donut...) and Beard papa! I personally prefer these cream puffs anytime to those deep-fried donuts! Though I must admit the donuts taste amazing, soft and varied flavours (I love the cheesy and chocolate-y ones but not those with jams, coffee cream or peanut butter).
One fine afternoon, a kind colleague of mine returned to the office with a huge box. I though it was again donuts! She came around and offered me one. I looked at the cute-looking pastry in awe, simply admiring it... I decided to pick the one that was covered with oreo cookies' crumbs. A few mouthfuls and it's gone... and I'm addicted!!!
I had to email my colleague to make sure I know the place to get these yummy puffs. Right after work, I couldn't keep the temptation off and headed to the nearest branch to have another - this time, their best sellling Double Chocolate Crunch.
I have been dying to introduce this to my family... they have done lots of donuts' trials, and on Saturday I think it's time to get them a sweet treat!! My favourite is still Oreo Crunch and chocolate lovers will without a doubt enjoy the Chocolate Madness or Double Chocolate Crunch... Not to mention, each puff has their own flavoured cream (vanilla, coffee, chocolate, etc).
Please be careful while eating - read the instructions on the box (to prevent your yummy cream from oozing out!!).

Hola Amigo
Yes, it's Spanish!
More food places to introduce. Like wine, I think I grow better with age. I learnt to appreciate good food, and unlike the past where I regard spending on food is a waste.
I have been to La Viva thrice, and everytime it has given me new surprises. Great tapas (though I think the mozzarella mushrooms aren't their best)!! I tried their escargots once, certainly not my favourite, especially after that night when we dined, we met a snail on his escape... helped him to got away from being trampled by giant human feet.
The squid ink risotto is quite to my liking, despite looking a little like coal! Actually it does look a LOT like coal, but I assure you they taste much better (not that I have eaten coal anyway!). My favourite tapas is asparagus wrapped with parma ham, I swear I will be able to finish another plate even with a full stomach. Desserts weren't their specialities, I find them too sweet and my custard pudding a little too dairy (milky) for me!
I had peach Sangria that evening and it's indeed very refreshing... best for people whom like some fruity flavour in their alcohol.
I will certainly go back for their tapas... and they do have very alluring main courses on promotion too. Delicioso!

时辰到了! Time is right!

Below is what I found from a professional website:
Which is better? :))
Below is what I found from a professional website:
- Monday mornings are met with a sense of dread
- You snap at people at the office
- You feel frustrated and powerless in your position
- You use your allotted sick time for the year, in the first three months
- You secretly hope that the company will sink
- You plot ways to expose the company's unethical behaviour
- You come to work late, take long lunches and leave early
- You usually feel emotionally drained and exhausted after work
- You feel dumped on and taken advantage of
- You're regularly checking for higher paying positions
- You imagine yourself quitting
- The thought of being fired excites you
Which is better? :))

And I said: Both work!
It is the time again, and I am certain that this is the right decision:)

水,我想对你说。。。
My right hand was trying to reach it...
The water bubbled up and down as if it was dancing under the afternoon sun, occasionally jumping high enough to feel my palm. It gently held my hand and let go... and again found its way back to touch it again.
In a daze, I was repeating to myself. Almost whispering. It's a wish, so it's not supposed to be heard.
By the third time making my round around the bubbling water, I was feeling a little dizzy. I am done and my little wish has been said. Not to you, but to her but to this thing - Aqua. Water is not an element, but in Chinese Fengshui, surprisingly it is.
Have you tried? The Fountain of Wealth situated at the basement of Suntec City Mall.
Today I decided to go against my belief as I watched the tourists went up to the water, put their hands in and made a few circles. I smiled. I told myself I want to do it too.

Grocery shopping is such a great workout
Today I feel like either a housewife (sucks, damn auntie leh) or a superwoman when the kind and considerate cashier @ NTUC supermarket asked me,"Can you handle these alone, there's so many things to carry?!"
I decided to do the once a month or fortnight shopping for home, which usually consists of mum's favourite brands - Dynamo detergent, washing powder, tissue packets & boxes, softener, Lipton milk tea... and today her favourite brand of cooking oil, Knife. It almost kills me, fortunately, I always have a helper (my sister) around to share half the 20kg!!

Absolutely abaloney
My mummy's yum yum abalone porridge makes me want to have one bowl after another!
She put the abalone in with the porridge the last time, but this time round we have it separated till you lay them on top of the hot porridge and give it a stir. Delicious, is it because it's mum's cooking or it is the abalone?? ;) I should believe it's the former.

Things men can say
"Japanese chicks look like steamed chicken (Hainanese chicken), SEA girls like roasted chicken... and I find roasted chicken a lot yummier, especially the skin =)" -- quoted from a close friend of mine
You know, it can be very interesting to sit among a bunch of guys and hear the things they say. I have done it a couple of times where I was the only female in the crowd. They tell you about stalkers (ex-girlfriends), their prostitute-seeking adventure, their adorable kids, their view on marriage and sometimes women... and it makes me laugh. I don't mean to laugh at them but it can be so different from what a bunch of women share among themselves. It is also very enlightening to see some people's take on certain issues. E.g. Last night, Simon shared his views on early marriage and having kids early because he didn't want others to make fun of his kid having a "grandpa" sending him to school. I'm sure that isn't the main reason but hey, some people are sure limiting themselves to their "age". I don't think I want to live by numbers though yes sometimes you do feel that time is running out... but my motive is to do it when you feel READY!

A beer for me!
When was the last time I had a bottle of Heineken?
Last week's Monday, there was a business networking event, so I have been having quite a few beers:( (Even when I was sick, I was still drinking!!) Later on, a few glasses of red wine at my overnight stay in Orchid Country Club and a peach Sangria on last Saturday. How bad? Anyway, I really needed to wind down, relax and have a laugh with people... so it's all fine.
I met Marz after ages (months) and well things have changed. I was surprised he and his long-termed girlfriend aren't together anymore. Well, changes, changes. Good or bad. I have had many changes as well and things will never stop changing for me! I also met his friend, Bernard, and friend's friend, Simon... both very entertaining guys:)
I'm happy to turn in now, yawn (after alcohol). Good night my friends!

破财消灾
Been trying to find this idiom for ages... haven't got the chinese han yu pin yin installer, so had to search like hell to find the characters!
For non-chinese speakers, it means "spend(lose money) to avoid(resolve) disaster", I literally translated it so it might not be the nicest way to phrase it.
Finally, we couldn't take it anymore. Monday lunch time, me and my colleague walked under the scorching sun along the air-polluted Nicoll highway to the Chinese temple at Bugis. We wanted a change of luck, we wanted to ask for blessing, we wanted to ask for guidance...
霉运! Bad luck has been lurking around us too much and there is nothing much we can do except to try to change or improve it. A friend told me, to change your luck, you need to do more good. No matter how much good I have been trying to do (there are indeed some bad things unfortunately), no matter how long I have waited... since last year, my luck hasn't improved tremendously. It did become slightly better but quickly went down again.
We are not exactly the superstitious people, or 100% into fortune-telling... We each got a lot from the Guan Yin Temple and decided to let one of the roadside fortune-teller interpret it for us. He just went on talking, mainly about how negative things are and then made us pay more to get some prayers and chantings. Actually when we think of it now, whatever he said IS NOT TRUE AT ALL! Bullshit! But when one is down on luck, you tend to be persuaded easily to think that way (yes, it's true... mmmm maybe it's true!). I didn't know these people are so well trained in human psychology! So we ended up paying him over 20 bucks (EACH!!), made us went up for prayers and chanting, another 10+ bucks (each!!) gone... This is how easily they earned our $$$. Like another of my friend told me, every religion will try to con money outta you, LOL. Anyway, we are taking it as 破财消灾 (as the idiom above). We must have some bad karma to repay, so indeed that spending did make us feel slightly better.

Why is HE not helping???
Even Blogspot is going against me today :(((( How many times must the error page appear!! :(((
HE has been testing my patience...
HE has been giving obstacles after obstacles...
HE has not been kind...
HE has not given me any leeway...
HE has been making me wait...
HE has been giving me all the wrong options...
HE has been punishing me (what have I done in my past life?)...
HE has been inflicting pain...
HE has been watching me cry...
