Today I have the one of the funniest conversations with an old friend over lunch, we discussed and shared our worst interview experiences and bosses. It was truly entertaining to hear what she has encountered and I must have amazed her with my stories as well...
Our conclusion. If the first day sucks big time and you're not into the company culture, life is going to be hard... think twice, are you going to stay?! If the boss (who also happened to interview you) sucks, add that company to the blacklisted employers' list. If you leave the room at the end of the interview thinking "What the F am I doing here, wasting time?!", you don't need an answer to whether you want that job or not.
A fair share of my experiences, of course, without revealing the Co. name because I'm not going to invite legal troubles to myself!!
Horrific experience #1
Company: Big mobile name!
Interviewer: Manager.
Situation: Interviewer stared at laptop the whole time, talking to his laptop monitor while asking me questions. The only time he offered eye contact is when he stood up to send me out of the door. Either he has no balls to look at me (am I too beautiful to look at!!! hahaaa) or he simply has no self confidence to conduct a proper interview! Unprofessional attitude!
Horrific experience #2
Company: Online travel portal!
Interviewer: SEA Manager.
Situation: Over the phone, when you enquired what is required for the interview... you get a very rude reply saying,"If you are keen in this position, you should know what to bring! You know, I don't have to tell you what to bring." Some manager like this highly possibly treats her staff like shit when she has PMS or bad sex the previous night!!! It's bad enough to work under a lady boss but it's even worse when you get one with PMS all the time!
Horrific experience #3
Company: Search engine marketing!
Interviewer: FOUNDER (imagine if the founder sucks!?).
Situation: Made you waited an hour, without a word or even any sign of apology, let someone behind your slot skipped your Q and then offered a 3-minutes discussion. Showed zero interest looking through portfolio, not to mention if he ever did read that resume!!! Ended off asking for your current pay and said will email 2 tests for you to complete. If I'm insane, I'd probably do those tests!!! But fortunately I'm not!!! So what if the company can pay??? A boss that shows zero empathy/sympathy/consideration and no interest in your job history or personality... will only make you do slavery to earn his profits. Sad but true.
Any of your bad experiences to share???? :)

Bake, eat & play
Wai2 has kindly invited me to her house for baking session! We have decided to make cookies, but I'm not sure what, so I just brought along some baking chocolate! In the end, we didn't make use of it but we ended up with some pretty decent cookies - 3 flavours. Sesame, Tea with jam and finally my favourite Oatmeal chocolate (cocoa).
It was fun and pretty quick. I think she has done it many times, so it was just a quick repetition for her. It was moulding the cartoon character faces onto the cookies that was a bit tricky (she hasn't done it too), but we managed to do that after a few different trials and errors. We had to freeze the dough before, so it makes it difficult, but without it gets too soft and sticky. So here's a peep at our end results!! I have shared them at home and will want to share some with my colleagues tomorrow:)))
I made Flapjacks (maple syrup, oats, raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, desiccated coconut, etc) the other weekend and loved it, unfortunately it took a while to cool down before I could take them out in whole (cut pieces), ended up all in my friend's stomach now!! But I will want to do that again!!
After the baking, Wai2 cooked us (the husband, me and BS) dinner - Japanese-style pancake (with seafood and one with additional pork). It was delicious, must be also due to the authentic Japanese ingredients!!! The seafood one was superb, had quite a bit and feeling really full. Alex, her hubby, also made us a banana, sesame and soya milk smoothie, which was awesome. I have been having too many smoothies... I'm ADDICTED!!!!!!!! Last week, I had the raspberries, blueberries with honey yoghurt!!!! Some weeks before I had banana oats smoothie. Okay, I'm going to make you guys drool at our dinner!!
We ended up burning all the calories playing Wii, which was hilarious... those movements we made with the controllers!! It did make us sweat, not sure if that was the weather or really those arm-swinging exercise!! I think we will do it again, that Monkey game has kept us very entertained.... I was winning at the hurdle game till BS decided to challenge against me and I practically lost all my energy by the end of the night... LOL. Good fun!

I paid for it
Paid the fine for an offence which I'll be committing a whole lifetime; finally I did it (obviously not heartily but willingly now). It is hard to get yourself to accept the fact that you get fined for something so stupid, OKAY, it is not stupid. Jaywalking kills and how many road accidents have resulted from them... But I'm just that unlucky one, one of the many unlucky ones whom have our names penned down on that traffic policeman's notebook.
I think, they have the best jobs, doing nothing, going around issuing summons to cars, fining people for jaywalking and having patrols (which are like fun rides). Best of all, they ruined other people's day, what a kind thing to do...
Anyway, I have had enough self grumbling about it, complaining to friends and decided it is even more stupid to write in an appeal and waste even more of my time trying to coax Singapore government to waive it. Damned it, just pay.

Run, Tigga, Run
Tigga is a nickname I named a friend who looks identical to the lead actor of the movie "Run, Fat Boy, Run".
Watched this on Wednesday and had a great laugh. It's a romantic comedy but luckily quite to my liking and not those crazy unrealistic idealistic storyline. Pea, pea, you should catch it... it's showing a marathon race down by River Thames... It's amazing to live in a country where you watched a movie that is filmed/shot locally...
It got me thinking of the moral of the story - Stop running away from problems, face it and overcome them. Bring it to completion.
Tigga (I know he's not reading this, because he doesn't even know my blog url, heheh), but somehow I felt like he is running away from his own problems, he is not helping himself to overcome it and see it. I couldn't bring myself to say it because it is his life. I'm keeping my mouth shut.
I like the moral of the movie. I am going to overcome mine too, it just takes a bit of time!! And sometimes a little luck is required! Actually, more luck please...
My rating: 4/5 (if you enjoy and love British humour)

I'm not thanking God it's Friday!
I miss my friends................................ especially those of you whom are faraway!!
My shopping-due-to-stress habit has been successfully replaced by drinking-to-unwind. I think this is no better. For a week, I have more than half the week having at least one alcoholic drink per night. Friday. Saturday. Monday. Wednesday. Thursday. That's 5 days out of 7!!! And maybe tonight, again.
I feel like having sushi for lunch and sitting out in the sun, alone again. I did that last Friday when I had such a shitty day, sat there watching the fountain, writing and doodling... and it really helped. I hope there is sun, because the weather sucks today. It rained cats and dogs and I was unexpectedly late for work, fortunately the morning work event was canceled due to 0 people turning up - AMAZING.
I'm having a bad day since yesterday and I haven't recovered. Had more sleep than usual the last 2 nights, but it didn't chase away the blues. Last night, it was a miracle I slept half past ten and I haven't done that for AGES. Yes, ages. A work colleague is annoying the hell outta me, he's been asking me such silly Qs, sometimes I feel like slapping him in the face!!! He has repeatedly asked me for something I have emailed him and I was so so pissed I said straight in his face,"What do you want then?" People like him certainly do not make my day better...

We're the cool blue Jaywalkers
Surprisingly a group of blue collared workers are in unison with me!! We jaywalked! I was astounded by the number, because there were about or at least 20 of us crossing at the same time. And it's less than a week those annoying "have-nothing-better-to-do" traffic policemen were stationed at that same spot. But now, no one gives a damn about it!!! Do it! Do it!

Whatever you do, will you reap it back??
Do you believe in Karma??? If so, when will I be getting all the good Karma back???
I don't believe this, all the men I have met, liked and dated are coming from tragic relationships, or one that has left them hurt for years and years... Yet they come into my life, and I heal them or indirectly I did. They left happy, but what about me??? If there is Karma, are you ever going to pay me back for one lifetime (or happily ever after) with someone whom can return it to me??
