6 months since I have started work at Suntec and I've devised a few ways of getting to work (as in from the MRT station to my office tower that usually takes up to 15 minutes)... Routine does bore me, and I need to find some excitment. I seek them!
(A) On a lazy day or an awful shoes' day, there's always the Shuttle Service from City Hall
(B) Walk along Nicoll Highway from Bugis, enjoy the carbon monoxide suicide trail
(C) Walk through Shaw Tower from Bugis, up and down the overhead bridge, this is meant for the physically fit and those with high endurance for warm morning walk
(D) Walk through City Link for sheltered air-conditioned comfort but lots of time-consuming turns
For more Vitamin D3, besides option (B). here's another few methods.
(E) From City Hall, you can
1. walk through Raffles City, exit at the door
a. nearest to Raffles Plaza, half air-conditioned, half sunny walk
b. nearest to Swissotel, still air-conditioned but more sunny walk
2. exit at the door on the right after ascending from escalator (before you even pass through Raffles City or Starbucks), a good sunny walk
If exit from option 1.
c. cross towards Raffles Hotel, across another 3 more routes straight ahead towards Suntec City, enjoy the construction going on by the road
d. cross 2 roads straight ahead (right amid of a few road constructions) before coming to one on the left and re-join the people from option c., however risk your head being hit by some dangerous object swinging up there! (believe me, this one is at least 1 traffic light faster due to the green light timing, that is if you walk briskly like me)
If exit from option 2., coming before the next zebra crossing, you can choose
e. turn left, walk along the Taxi stand outside Swissotel to catch a sight of business men in suits Q-ing up for taxis and then resume to the above c. or d. option
f. cross zebra crossing and one more road, you head towards Esplanade but turn left at the end (because there's no crossing on the main road) and you get to resume to end of route d.
g. cross zebra and one more road, turn left and walk along the traffic before you resume to mid of route d., didn't really like this route because you get car drivers whom stopped at the traffic staring at your bum!
Isn't it amazing that some people take one route for their whole timespan they are at their job, while nutty people like me are always coming up at new ideas. Uuummm... I shall not continue on the return trip from work as I usually do a lot of de-tour (to Marina Square or Millenia Walk or even Bugis), but one tip for people working at Suntec Towers. If the shuttle bus from Suntec is too crowded, try getting the one at Millenia ;)
By the way I have another silly thought, does one person who walk under the sun and out on the road burns more calories than someone who rather takes the sheltered route through City Link???

Two of the world's ends
2 calls came in today...
I managed to get hold of the person whom rang me on Friday which we had missed each other thrice!! He sounds really nice and helpful and I keep my fingers crossed to be shortlisted for this job, which happens to be a really GOOD company as well (with that, I mean the employee/staff welfare).
The other call made me totally fuming, over the conversation, the agent actually reduced the offered salary (which was advertised) to 20-30% lesser. Hey, I'm not an idiot, if you offered that salary range on the job advertisement, but am only now willingly to pay me so much lesser (than the minimum end of that range), where does the extra 20-30% goes to?? Of course, without a doubt, to the job agency. I really despise such dishonest acts, so I told her, I've got better offers coming at me!

GSS madness
Know what? I didn't end up buying anything in Topshop (phew!).
I took half a day off yesterday, but the plan to send my camera for a check up was abolished after huge amount of consideration. The repair centre is too far out, I need to take an hour on the bus or take a train, switch to a bus and walk for a distance. My camera works fine, just that it makes some mechanical noises during focusing, I guess I should close one eye and really take it to service should it get any worse. Singaporeans, we should relax right... don't get all uptight about the slightest matter... OK, I'm getting there;) Hahaha
And then I spent the afternoon at VivoCity.
The GREAT SINGAPORE SALE (in short, GSS) has started yesterday... In fact, some shops were already having sale before the GSS, that's the spirit of Kiasu-ism. Victimssssssssssssss... I am one of them. Then again I have bought two things which aren't on sale, but because I liked them so much and probably if there is a sale, they might be out of stock! Besides my usual craze for socks, stockings and leggings, my new addition on the list is headbands (or hairbands). I got 4 yesterday at M)phosis (another local brand, see I'm such a great supporter). Unfortunately I wasn't the only one, many Singaporeans are great M)phosis fans and the shop was packed. I could hardly move around, it was a lot of squeezing and "excuse me".
I decided that this weekend I should be indoor and no more swiping my poor debit card!
The best timing not to ring me is during shopping hours, because I almost never would hear it!!! And damn, my job application #10 chose to ring me yesterday and we never managed to get hold of one another. They rang twice, I rang back, they rang back, and I rang twice back!!! I guess I really need to catch them on Monday, don't want to lose another job opportunity!

La la la... hier ich komme
Finally I sent out job application #10, whooo... Wondering if I should feel relieved or anxious?? Relieved and hopeful that one of 10 might work out or anxious that I have sent 10 and nothing is still on my plate yet. Just as I am about to take a break from my active mouse-clicking search, I have 2 missed calls while I was away from my desk. Heeeee... my 2nd job interview (from my job application #01) is coming up! And it's a German Company, exciting!

Sister got home slightly past midnight (which is literally today) with a few bags of shopping. Who can resist not buying in Bangkok, considering a bag now at Bugis Street can easily come up to $59.90! Anyway, she didn't splurge as much as I (and my whole family) would have thought so. It was a huge relief, as our tiny room can no longer accommodate dozens of new bags/clothes. She bought quite a few things for herself, my little sister and I each got a "Food Packaging" bag, which is pretty "in" and cool. I think they will be a hit if I am to import and sell them down Covent Garden in London:) I found the pictures online;))

Jobs. No luck. I have so far sent out 8 applications. 4 no replies. 4 rang me up. However, it is still not coming. Out of 8, 1 interview so far. 3 which rang me are job agencies (either to go down for a chat or a brief phone interview), they have sent to the clients on my behalf and I am waiting............... It has become quite annoying and tiring that I stopped searching for a couple of days. No one said job hunting is easy, right? So I'm back on and looking... and looking... and looking! I can only keep my fingers crossed that the next one I hold on to will be something challenging and what I have been wanting to do - Web advertising/E-marketing!

The black Spidey
Have you all been wondering why the Spiderman has a new costume... I have been wondering for a while since I last saw the poster and Burger King's promotion toy! Well I got 2 of the toys, because they are actually quite a collection.
Back to the movie...
I kinda love it... there are many parts of it that I certainly like. Compared to the first two, I felt this is less mushy and lovey-dovey, it actually caters well for the male audience whom usually are into actions. I enjoy them, at some point my heart was even racing with the actor... I watched with my mouth open and fist close to my chest!
In this episode, Spiderman tells us,"Life is all about choices you make!" There are times we took the wrong steps, e.g. dated the wrong men, made the wrong decisions, done illegal things... Can we forgive, can we undo, can we learn from it and move on??? There are many times the devil is there to convince us to find revenge, to make the person pay/suffer for their deed. However if we do take time to see the good in ourselves and most importantly in others, perhaps we would be doing it differently?!
Spiderman 3 has not only demonstrated high value placed in friendship, relationship and also kinship, Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) has also revealed a more relaxed and entertaining side;) Harry Osborn (James Franco) has such a gorgeous smile and it's a shame he died... AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh :~(
I had to release myself during the 140minutes. Sad, but I always have to use the restroom if the film is over 2hours! I missed some parts. Can any kind soul tell me what happened following the scene that Harry regained his memory and went to threaten Mary Jane... MISSING!!!! When I returned, Harry and Peter are fighting over Mary Jane's kiss (which tasted like strawberry)!!
Go watch it and you'll know why Spiderman has a black suit!!
My rating: 4/5 definitely for the thrills!!

Less than 45 minutes, I'll be catching Spiderman 3... It's not the first time I felt a sudden urge or desire to watch a movie and I just bought the ticket within the next minutes. I enjoy such spontaneity and must be my 4th or 5th time doing it alone since. It never felt odd to be a loner in the cinema, afterall when you watch a show, you usually don't talk to one another... doesn't make a big difference to have a friend sitting next to you. (p.s. will update review soon)
The keropok man is at the door of my office, and this is bad, because these people tend to "psycho" you into buying, okay or maybe humans are just too easily tempted... If you do not understand the malay word keropok, here's an explanation I found. I bought the fish crackers, thinking my mum would loved that! OK, even on an average working day I can spend up to $15 a day... this is where all the hard earned money is vanishing to:(
The Carl's Jr.'s Famous Star burger is still in my stomach since I had it at 230pm... I was so hungry by then that I nearly ordered it as "Famous Five", no idea how that came to my head though. Why five?? My mind seems to think in numbers... I normally don't do big burgers and fastfood burgers, I guess this has to be an exception as I was starving! Sigh, read here how unhealthy one big burger can be. Time to keep weight in check.

A weekend without woes
Friday night, I treated myself to a scoop of dark chocolate gelato, pampered my dull skin with the new Lush's deep cleansing peppermint mask. Very relaxing, as you can imagine... ;)
Saturday, part of my face appears to be allergic to the mask I had the previous night... it wasn't too serious and I had an appointment to go. The lower left cheek had a couple of tiny red spots (like pimples or mosquito bites). After a few constant applications of aloe vera gel, it didn't seem to aggravate, which is a good sign. So I decided to go along to Kinokuniya with my friend, to shop for "girly", feminine or women's magazines. We had a good browse at the japanese fashion magazines which many people (girls) here are into now, she got those while I ended up buying a british magazine AGAIN. Well I have already gotten one japanese magazine from HK. 5 hours of walking before finally I could rest my feet, still couldn't find a good pair of slippers-cum-flats-cum-sandals that I need. Sigh, I succumbed to temptation again. Flesh Imp, a local brand, has sale up to 70%... and you know we should support local brands, right? I swear they have one of the nicest collection of cool & punky tee shirts, or jersey jackets;) So...
Sister left for Bangkok early Sunday morning, it leaves me to my room alone for 2 nights, very pleased about this. I forced myself up at 930am each morning just to catch the Doraemon cartoon in time!! I love them, no matter how grown-up I am! Sunday is supposed to be lazy, but I made myself changed my sheets, cleaned my window grilles and ran errand for mum & dad (grocery shopping!). My face has recovered but I'm mentally exhausted by 10pm :)
Spiderman 2 on tv last night made me want to watch Spiderman 3 NOW!!!!!!!
