you, paparazzi

I was reading on MSN Entertainment - Celeb Hook-ups & Break-ups. I don't think I'd be able to understand that feeling, and it must be a terrible and unbearable one. Having your own relationship (especially breaking up) all over the papers, and the usual rumor of who the third party is or whom the other party is hooking up with almost immediately after you. Ouch! But it is true that all these news which are obviously hurtful to the victims itself, we are all finding it a pleasure to read. Or well, most of us do sympathize with them, don't you? Being a human is hard, being a celebrity is even harder!

Am I one of the normal women or the abnormal?

I just realized one thing. One of my buddies is obsessed with or craving for the attention from men, especially the unavailable or the wrong types. She flirts with them and seems very happy to be able to be their focus even for a minute or two. Has it something to do with self-esteem or ego??

I don't understand. I don't get such attention and don't yearn to have it from men whom are totally strangers or even acquaintances. I feel happier having more intelligent conversation than feeling proud that someone is physically attracted to me. All men do like a beautiful face, that is true, but how long can that physical attraction last, I really wonder...

Looking at the others within our group, none of us are attention-seekers. Perhaps we are a little more reserved, sometimes shy... I am pretty certain the rest of us only enjoy the attention from the right guy, someone who is sincere, obviously attracted to and into us.

Tell me which is more normal... or perhaps there are 2 kinds of women in this world...

Good friend, good lover?

This is none of my business, but it's affecting me. I can't tell why. Is it because she's my mate or just because I think what she did is near to immoral of the normal behaviour of a girlfriend. I can't stand it anymore, yet another part of me did not want to confront her about it. My friend, as old as I am, should be responsible enough for her actions, anyway what I deem as immoral might not just be to certain individuals.

My friend happily attached to a man she claimed she wants to marry is flirting with men. Well, flirting is not wrong, as long as you are single and available (by this, I mean not married). But that was much more than flirting... She was behaving too intimate with a man. And that man coincidentally is also my friend. What can I say?? I'm not going to stop two persons who have at least "some interest" in each other. Yet I can't understand how she could do this when what she assured everyone else was she was just making this man yearned for more. Made him craved!

Isn't that cruel? I'm wondering how unfair this is to her own boyfriend, at the same time to this man. It sounds really stupid, but it is upsetting me to see a good friend acting like this. A disappointment I will not want to say more. Deep inside, I actually felt so bad, because I can't imagine having a partner behaving like this - she's not my partner, okay!

I hope one day when she finds real love, she will not be this fickle-minded. For now, I just don't want this incident to be ruining my mood further, so full-stop.

Man can cook III

The answer: if you'd like men that can cook - go for Koreans. Asian men with single eyelids. Men you drool over watching Korean drama. As good-looking as you can get. Seriously, I mean they do cook. I reckon a lot more than men back home or even in London. That's a hearsay from the people I met. But you'll find out when you meet some...

I'm a vivid food lover. So I need to date men who can cook... Not Koreans for me when I have already grabbed one whom can do the job. *wink* So u better do some lecker food, I'm waiting!! And wait, I'm brushing up my skills - I just need a kitchen to practice.

Arghh... time to pay another week's rent tomorrow - money seems to go fast but doesn't come fast!

i love you

How often do you use this and really know you mean it?

I don't know if lovers in a relationship constantly reassure each other of their commitment or feelings towards each other. In the past, I always think "actions mean more than words". But when you get both, there is nothing more you'd like to complain about. I never wanted to use "i love you" unless I'm very sure I know I mean it... Most of the time, I replaced them with "i like you", simple yet sincere. And yes, it meant what it said.

My few relationships in the past are so short that I'm often doubtful about whether I was in love. Or are they even called a relationship! Not an one-sided feeling, now I refer to that mutual feeling. I guess I only feel that now... I'm still very careful when it comes to saying "i love you"!

To some people, it could just be something sweet to say or something you know she/he wanted to hear. For me, I do not expect to hear it unless it comes with a great significance. Packaged with love. Packaged with devotion. And the same goes when it finally is coming out of my own mouth.

Mein hase, ich liebe dich!

Mein liebster Hase

It was his birthday... Talking about birthdays, I remember how many of them I celebrated with the guys I dated. Yet none stayed long enough for mine, ok, maybe except one of them. I wouldn't think I'm romantic, but I always think its more significant to do it with a cake, even if its just a piece. Do you call that traditional? When it comes to mine, I think a cake is too much of a trouble. Well, whoever buys a cake for themselves?

It rained like there was no tomorrow...

He cordially invited me for a dinner with him. For his birthday. It felt exciting, despite it came last minute I felt I had that obligation to turn up. At home, it was filled with questions as to why I was dressing up for the night. I said I was having a date. Apparently, it seemed to be the perfect excuse for any late night-out, my parents didn't bother me with "What time are you coming home!!" calls. And no one was asking me further, I wonder if they took my words for it...

I saw him for over 2 hours, short but sweet. It's funny, does being in love has a specific criteria to meet? My good friend told me I didn't seem to act like I am, just because I see him only twice a week?? I guess she just doesn't understand how I feel towards him... Possession to me is not part of love. Love is just a weird thing!

Ugly potatoe, yucks!

*sigh*

I feel so ugly... I was in tears when someone said I'm not. You know there are time that we feel so bad about ourselves (yes, women -- we are talking about that now!). I don't know, some women might feel good all the time or look good all the time, but I can't. I can see that I am not... or at least half the time I think I'm not feeling proud! No no, don't go about how cute you think I am... but there is an actual fact women are never satisfied or always inferior when you see something better. Ok, mmm yes, when you see someone better out there. Or even not, arghh, I guess I must be feeling horrible about myself right now!

And now I find that someone who doesn't see that ugliness in me... its actually very consoling. I feel so comfortable being naked (I mean without "make-up") around him. He doesn't seem to notice my flaws (or maybe he just doesn't want to mention), yet I constantly am bugged by them myself - mentally!! I'm obsessed about how physically unattractive I'm getting... ok, call it deteriorating!! Every time I look at this person, I can imagine everyone else is certainly more worthy for him. I don't mean I don't have my self-confidence at all, but it dropped tremendously when it all (or should I say he) seems too good to be true.

Everything that is happening today is a dream come true! Yes, I am happy!! I have many expectations and I've realized them through him. I see myself being nice (ok, the truth is I've always try to be nice if you're nice), but now this is done without condition - without you having to be the nice one first! I can't ask God for someone better, but maybe do my face a little good. Stop producing me pimples! Yes, why me???! when other bitchy people get the baby skin!!

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?? Yeah, I'm crazily in lurrrvvvee...

von einem schoenen teller isst du niemals alleine

Off a beautiful plate you will never eat alone (thanks dirty!)...

I was speaking to a mate about girls whose boyfriends are their only life! Their only mean of interaction, their only resource, their only focus... How can they live with that? Or they can provided he is there all her life, provided he will not be leaving her. I can't doubt their devotion to this man, but where else does she see herself standing?? Here's a part of my conversation:

Patata Pötatoe @longbar says: (2:35:37 PM)
funny.. but im scared of getting sick with the same person for so long

Patata Pötatoe @longbar says: (2:35:50 PM)
i mean if its ur first bf.. and last.. then thats it. thats ur life

Do I sound too modernized for the traditional thinking?? The childhood sweetheart fantasy, that first love idea, that one bf to last a lifetime thinking or even love at first sight?! They all doesn't apply to me, or well in a way, till someone REALLY right comes along. I still like to question when do you really know he is the ONE, perhap I haven't found that feeling yet.

Love-struck

I'm not sure if I'm in love... but I'm nourished by the good feelings.

I enjoy being with someone, laughing together, watching him eat, walking side-by-side, creating a mess of our food, have a tickle-you war!! I smile at myself reading the sms-es, I cry over him. Die, I've gotten myself into a mess. What am I doing!

Is it true when you least expect something and it comes your way? When I was looking for it, all that I gotten into was an emotional shit pit that I had problem climbing back up. I'm scared of dirtying my shoes again... you understand what I mean?

Its Euro 2004 now, I'm excited. I'm looking forward to matches on TV but sadly they aren't showing much except the first match. I want to watch Spain, Germany, England play or anything goes really. When can Channel 5 or "i" get so generous and sponsor us free matches live!!!!

It is amusing how some old people tried to speak english to me. I was in this coffeeshop getting my breakfast to ease my poor grumbling stomach. This old man thinking I'm non-chinese, tried so hard to get the message across to me. I spoke some hokkien and he still doesn't recognise I actually speak Mandarin!!! WHY!! Oh well, I want to clarify but it is funny how I see it. So I let it be...

Cast the sleepy leech away

I've taken the name of a "slacker" for 14 days now. Since my homepage was officially launched to my mates, that high energy level seemed to have depleted. My nights are now shorter, I dozed off on the touch of anything soft enough to lay on. Or not really, I can even do it on the hard concrete floor. Sleepy leech has sucked on me...

I also like to credit part of that to the long dating hours. With rabbit that is... rabbit rabbit rabbit

I'm starting to feel my hands - like I'm waking up from a 100 years of long sleep. The first ray of sunlight cast upon my face, as I try to open my eyes to that blinding brightness but hardly so. For once, I hear my own breathing and feel my heart beating. I'm alive... ha ha. I guess I shouldn't waste my time in dreamland unnecessarily, life is too precious for that. Wake up Miss Slumbers!!!

I'm smitten

It is frightening my Friendster mailbox is choked with 15 new messages this morning - the most I ever had so far. I got a sentence or two from those under-aged Singaporean boys, boring picture-less men, INDIA men (he looks okay), married men, some men whom preferred to put an object or hunks as their faces, and maybe just one or two decent chaps who has probably caught my attention for 2 seconds. Yes, 2 seconds. If you are one of those and by chance is reading, sorry but get offended if you want (I'm not pleasing everyone here).

My sunday was ultimate, ten hours outdoor - with a man and a gnome. I'm fascinated by the Urban Capsule... I took numerous pictures of them when I first visited. I dropped these guys an email with selected photos and am very pleased to hear them wanting to put my shots on the webby. How exciting!! My pleasure, definitely.

I liberated a gnome named Geeone, he (I assume its a "he") looks seriously cute. I've had so much fun sweating under the scorching sun for this little guy. He has gotten me smitten. So has my date. I'm certainly fine with doing another gnome liberation again if I get the chance. Check out when I post Geeone's photos on urbandream.

Man can cook

I was talking to my mate about dating men.

Men who bring you to high class restaurant to show how much they respect you. Men who like to show they have some money. Men who pay for everything. And surprisingly there are still men who bring you to a street stall on first date. Money doesn't matter that much I thought.

I don't need a man who spend money on me. I want a man who can cook. He he he.
