Me recommend this!

Something I indulge in every now and then... and a definite during Christmas!

Last year, I bought myself this again. The first time I bought this was back in London (2004) when I decided to visit my ex-boss and his family before I left for Germany. I got a box of this (very expensive back in London then! was about £4.90), I wrapped some into mini boxes as gifts for the boys. I couldn't resist not having the rest myself! In Singapore it was about S$9.90.

This year, I'm tempted to buy it again... but... something else caught my eye. Lindt has came up with a few limited editions for the festive season! This one below is one of the new additions, it certainly sounds yummmmm.... It's named "Lindt Snowman Lindor Truffles" -- Milk chocolate shells with white chocolate truffle centers.

However, that's not the one I purchased, if you do know me well enough, I would buy anything more than 60% cocoa over milk chocolate! So, something well perfect got my heart swayed! "Lindt Dark Peppermint Lindor Truffles" -- 60% Cocoa Extra Dark Chocolate Shell with a Smooth Peppermint Filling! They taste like another one of my favourites "After Eight" mint chocolate... but this is heaven because it's LINDT!

Thank you Lindt for making my X'mas this year so minty with your dark chocolate!

Bunny's chocolate day

Easter Sunday is here tomorrow. Singapore doesn't have any Easter Monday holiday, shame.

I had an egg to celebrate, but it's gone before Easter actually arrives! Palmer's pop rocks chocolate egg... You know pop rocks??? Those that fizzle on the tongue, and I actually like that sensation... mmmm... My favourite is the Cola flavored, I still love them.
An example of Pop Rocks
Anyway, the milk chocolate wasn't fantastic... the pop rocks aren't inside the hollow egg like I had expected, they are melted together with the chocolate. So when the chocolate started to melt in your mouth, then the pop rocks would settle on the tongue and you get the fizzling... They're ok, not the best. This is what my egg looked like:

I would much rather have Terry's Chocolate Orange which Pea brought back over Christmas!! Dark chocolate + Orange, the best combination of all... now that I can't find anything similiar, I was thinking of settling for Carrefour's Orange peel with milk chocolate. Mmmm...

I miss you, my british chocolate!
Enough of my crazy craving for chocolate, that says a lot about the time of the month! And to everyone whom have been reading my blog regularly, here's something specially created for you:))))

Framboise, Brandy & Schokolade?

Is there such a perfect mix - Raspberries + Brandy + Chocolate???

YES!!!!!!!!
After Eight (Japan) has came up with this limited edition luxurious night chocolate. I read it from the papers, and couldn't wait to buy one off the shelves. And I did. They also have a lime version, but what is good without alcoholic content (sheeeeeeezzz, there I go again). Take a look inside, not plenty for S$5 but okay *think* you need to pay for the Brandy!

After having my first piece, I thought it was overrated. I went thinking,"It was just some berries, a bit of alcohol with the chocolate. Not like I haven't had any before!" But take the second piece, this time, let it melt it slowly on your finger as you hold it...

Bite it off, enjoy the moment before swallowing the whole piece. And you'll get it ;)

Like Rolls Royce

Tsunami preyed on Solomon Islands yesterday morning. Poor things... there was no warning.

My mum teased me,"Now you're spending all your $$$ (savings) because Tsunami is approaching..." I bought Royce chocolate home today, just because I suffer a severe craving for good quality chocolate. I visited Carrefour but was just not keen in Lindt or Nestle or Hersey anymore... Not even Meiji. I have always seen Qs at the Royce shop but never understood why until today.

I try it! I tried!

I have a very specific craving... only dark chocolate. So after chatting with the sales person (a true japanese), I decided to go for NAMA BITTER! It's a 20 pcs box. It has to be refrigerated... so she packed it with dry ice while I carefully sent it home and into the cool temperature. Dinner was over and we all couldn't wait. Sister was more anxious than me, I could see her waiting to jump onto my tiny box of chocolates! Attack!

So I carefully opened it, of course, it being the first time! It comes in such an elegant packaging that it seems a pity to tear everything open... But when I finally lifted the cover, I went,"WOW!" So so so heavenly and they're just mouthwatering. Divine!

I poked it with the plastic fork provided, slowly put it into my mouth... It just slowly melted... Immersed, the bittersweet taste immediately surfaced and you felt the endorphin rush. It made you happy quickly, like a drug. It made you addicted, like the drug too. Endorphin: Any of a group of peptide hormones that bind to opiate receptors and are found mainly in the brain. Endorphins reduce the sensation of pain and affect emotions - quoted from dictionary.com.

All in all, I say,"If you have not tasted it, give it a go... Royce is a must-try for its affordable and quality japanese chocolate!"

Cioccolato, don't you just love them

Life is not so perfect, so sometimes we need to do with less!

About my chocolate craving the previous day, I found a solution - Maltesers. They were my favourite but now I prefer dark chocolate and those without artifical flavouring or coloring. So far, Lindt is good but too expensive a taste for my frequent "mouth itch". For those whom are not very into chocolate, here's a picture of Maltesers. Oh I bought the milk and also the dark chocolate version (they have a white chocolate one as well).

On the inside, it's crunchy.

Anyway, I want to recommend you a (German) chocolate [pictured below] called the Reber Mozart Kugeln. I tried in Germany. And they do have my favourite MARZIPAN!!!! Oh, I found another brand exactly the same, Mirabell Mozart Kugeln from Salzburg, Austria! Which is the genuine one?? They look sooooooooooo.... identical. Whatever it is, let me show you this chocolate, and you decide whom you want to buy it from. LOL. Singapore has some speciality shops for chocolate, and they have it!

So let's take a look at what it's made of!! Each Mozart Kugeln has a heart of finest marzipan surrounded by dark and light praline cream with a coat of rich dark chocolate! Don't let me confuse you, Kugeln (which means "balls") is just one of the many choices they offer! Take your pick and drool~

Chocolate museum

Are you wondering what this entry is all about with a title like "Chocolate Museum"?? No, no, no I haven't visited one though I did saw one in Barcelona (I think). Anyway, I just had a very vivid dream, can't remember the details but the ending has imprinted itself in my head. I remember sleeping slightly past 1 and waking up almost 8, this dream has tailed me to the end of my sleep. It was cast with some people I know and set in this museum setting where real chocolate has been used and been coated with a layer of wax to be exhibited in this museum. There I saw these people (some I know, some I don't) grabbing these fabricated displays and eating them up!!! I wasn't the least interested in eating those "chocolates" no matter how nice they look, and was very upset they are destroying the property. It was then I woke up... disappointed by the greed and inconsideration of these people.

Is it trying to tell me something??

Kinder Surprise!!!

Surprises for kids... I felt like one! He bought me an egg. He offered to buy me one at the canteen the other day, but I shook my head. He almost didn't like the idea when I ate too much chocolate, we are on one week FAT-FREE diet... Even though we have some in the house, we could hardly follow our rules, sneakily and slowly the pieces are disappearing from the boxes. He came home from the supermarket one evening and presented the little egg to me. Like a little fragile gift, I held it with both hands =)

Gosh, its a Kinder Surprise, baby!
