Congrats Blair!!

My friend kindly invited me to his Bali wedding and I really wished I could go... Such an coincidence that I have fallen sick that weekend :( Wonder if it's a blessing in disguise? I have always wanted to attend an overseas wedding, but fret not, because one of my buddies is having hers in Sabah (don't ask me why this quirky location!)... and apparently, she made me maid of honour.

I feel very privileged to be a guest at Blair's solemnization, as it was meant for the immediate families and very few friends. A dinner for 16. Due to the fact that I wasn't attending the Bali wedding, I was then offered to attend in Singapore. I can still recall how I met him, it was through my friend, then ex-colleague Cynthia. They were having a blind date and having a coffee at Starbucks where I was supposed to meet Cynthia thereafter. Since then, I probably have known him for 2 years, and we even travelled to Kota Kinabalu, joined by the girlfriend (not Cynthia, of course) whom is now his wife.

Blair is an IT guy, and I think I can proudly call him a geek, because I'm sure he wouldn't mind :) Haha, I guess now he's one of the very left IT experts I have left in my social circle as the rest have retired and disappeared out of my life.

Blair had a very simple ceremony here, very short and sweet. No fuss. I guess Asians tend to put extra effort in a lot of the details and try to make it perfect and memorable. While for the foreigners, they like to get it done without much fuss. But the restaurant did put our names on the customised guests' menu at our allocated sitting, it was very nicely done. The 5 course dinner included foie gras, wild mushroom soup with gruyere toast and roast black cod fish accompanied with spinach and almond puree... Excellent food, and a beautiful night for a joyous occasion!

Like the above Chinese saying goes... if you don't spend the money, the disaster won't go away. It's been always like this for me, whenever I'm sick, I need to spend to see a doctor or I'd never get better. And once I spent the money, the disease seemed to have bid its farewell or well almost. Life is just not very fair on me a lot of the times, what to do?

But at least, I adore my family doctor, he asks about my life all the time when I visit. He gives better medication than his wife who chucks me with medicine for kids. Today I got some positive bacteria as a consolation.

Thought of the day - my house is haunted. I told my parents and they were just laughing it off.

Not again!

Fever and headache were lurking around yesterday, I managed to win the hide-and-seek with them. I also took the po chai pills just to make sure the stomach won't run again.

It was alright till this morning, something seemed funny again. I ignored it, thinking the stomach upset was playing games with me again. I still managed to stay out for 11 hours before coming back home and doing 4 toilet runs in 4 hours... Damned! The worst has came true, it has returned :(

Took 6 fishing pills after 1st run, and another dose of po chai pills after the 3rd... It doesn't seem to work anymore, I hope it will give it a rest and let me sleep :( ARGH.

I just thought I would share these with all the fellow job seekers, and I did make one of the worst mistakes at my interview! Not bringing a copy of my resume, well the HR told me to bring nothing on the 2nd interview and they did have it on the 1st... Worse of all, I don't have a print out copy of it myself! Ermm, no point crying over spilled milk now, just hope there's still a chance :)

My head is about to burst

It all started from waking up at 6am, having cold feet and an stomachache... yesterday. At first I thought it was the interview giving me cold feet, but I felt unwell. Even after the episode, I came home and still felt something was wrong.

After 1 panadol extra, 6 fishing pills and 4 panamol... the upset stomach, fever and episodic headache are finally gone, hopefully for good! It's the one day I swallowed damn lots of pills on my own accord! Sometimes when I was really sick, I often wondered if I would wake up the next day... Life is so fragile, and so often not worth to think so much about.

I just removed the chat box till I find a better one that will allow verification before posting and no posting of links. I've been getting too many rubbish messages from spammers and it's wasting my time removing the messages! Geez, don't you guys have better things to do???

Gift for myself ;)

While everyone else is busy earning money, I'm spending my hard earned savings... Yes, bad, I know. I will make sure I'll fill up the gap later. But recently, I'm in the mood to spend, by that it often means I'm feeling a little grumpy and thus the shopping mood.

So I am making this purchase as my own birthday present. Ha ha. A bit early, yes.

It's something I have always wanted. Don't kill me please!

A flip phone or some call it a clamshell!!!! And a Samsung GT S3600i! My only spare phone is a malfunctioning 8 years Samsung lady's flip phone or clamshell, which has already lost its antenna. I guess, a good enough reason for me to get one??? Well, I do have my favourite Blackberry at the moment, but it's under M1 contract which is I'm literally loaning from them for 2 years till I buy it off them at the end of my contract (still more than 1 year to go!). I remember how miserable I was when I lost my last phone and was struggling with the 8 year-old spare phone which would lose calls halfway through.

I had been searching for a red or gold Motorola Razr for the longest time, but a brand new will cost me maybe over S$300... I didn't want to spend that much for a spare phone. Or I call it a holiday phone. Guess what? This is less than half the price of a Razr. I walked by the Samsung shop some days back, saw it, and was captivated. It was not till I had walked into the store for 3 times at least before I finally decided to buy it. Yes, I did think for quite some time, walking back and forth. I love this sleek phone and its color. It's like champagne gold, with dark brown theme when you open the flip. A very basic and simple phone, no wifi, no 3G, lousy camera... but most importantly, it is a flip phone! I need just that, and the basic calling and messaging. It should satisfy me :)

p.s: I love Samsung, they are pretty long-lasting in my experience. I also love Blackberry & Sharp (not in Singapore sadly).

Is it wrong to expect the simple courtesy from friends? What has happened to the world these days?

People don't bother to reply to sms, even when they are busy, they can reply later? I always try to do it later if I'm not available. But I hate being ignored, it's plain rude. I rather use that one sms for someone else then!

People don't say thank you when you do something nice for them willingly. All right, I offered to help but after helping, not even a simple word of appreciation. For a friend of many years, sometimes it's quite disappointing.

At least for a consolation, I still have other better friends... :)

Thank you my sweetest friend, Joy! I have always been the one writing friends letters and cards and it is really nice to get one as a surprise :) I opened the mailbox today and was shocked to see a package addressed to me, and it's from the USA. It really brightens my day and yes, I heart that pink Domo as much as I heart my friend, Joy. She bought it at the recent comic conference she attended, and how sweet is that to still remember this dear friend back in Singapore!! I miss you much much much................
