21 days of wardrobe

I survived the first month at work. Five more to go. It will be really fast.

To make work a little more interesting, I decided not to repeat my wardrobe (i.e. clothes) for the whole month. Of course, it excluded pants as I do not have enough bottoms to run across the whole month! I should have enough to last a few months, provided I am diligent enough to dig them out from my closet and iron them. Unfortunately, there are always lazy weekends! Not to mention, the task of hand washing the delicate ones! *dreadful*

I didn't manage to switch my bag, maybe once. I hate changing bags because I will bound to forget some stuff, even with a bag organizer, things do not improve :p Though I suspect I might have enough bags to last me a whole working month too! And to be honest, I haven't been buying much this year.

I think I still deserve a pat for managing a whole month of fashion show at work. And no, I'm not going to continue this frenzy ;)

Paint it

Recently, something caught my attention and definitely got a hook on my wallet. I was never too keen on painting nails until something just hit me hard. I started to look at swatches on blogs and after getting hold of a few online shops, it began my crazy spree for nail polishes. It's a phase, but the kind that will revisit from time to time. At one point, I would change the colors every few days once it started to chip... but sometimes I am just too lazy, and I'd give them a matte look with a coat of base coat.

Women go mad...

Magazines, magazines, magazines... I am caught in the frenzy, so are my friends (& colleagues). We are mad, gone mad.

If you follow this blog (also look at his other links), you will know exactly what I mean. We are victims of fashion, slaves of brands and sinners of freebies. Women, why are your lives so difficult and filled with all kinds of temptation - just like the temptation of married men??

This month, I have gotten 7 magazines excluding one I bought specially for Taiwan research. All 7 are fashion related: 3 Japanese (1 magazine, 2 e-mooks also known as product catalogue), 1 Taiwanese, 1 Hong Kong, 2 local (but overseas' titles). That's a bit too much, I almost felt that I am compensating the lack of magazines' purchase for the whole of last year!

I also have spent a lot this month... I just don't know why, it seems like I'm getting out of control. I can't stop myself from taking out the card. Curb it!!!!!! I shall. I should think of how much I need to save for the coming trip, yes, please!!

I have signed one year of my life with Kinokuniya, and I know I will fall for it again (yes, magazines!). But I will impose myself a limit, and I won't give in easily. Yes, I can discipline myself ;)

For now, I am glad March is coming to an end... and no more for this month! I promised "3 months no more Japanese magazines", let's see how good I am at resisting :x

YES IT IS IN SINGAPORE. I highly recommend to do it with their guided tour, which comes free if you purchase the admission ticket. Those of you into fashion (with a BIG passion), you'll enjoy it! Look at the little details and thoughts Lacroix has put into design the costumes, and me being me, I love his use of super bold colors. BRIGHT please. And his use of lace and pokka dots... and the reasons behind them. Very clever. For more details of this event which is currently at National Museum of Singapore, visit the website and look under special Exhibitions. It's on from now till 7 June 2009.

Is it the boredom, unhappiness or the "self-induced" stress that made me shopped again?

I actually went to look for a pair of shoes I had my eyes on in another store but has ran out of sizes, and I knew that I would be vulnerable to temptation today. I obviously knew it. But I still went and succumbed under it.

My new punk-glamour spectacles!

Was delayed... and almost forgotten.

I have it collected late Friday night after a "ready-to-collect" call. Quite pleased and excited. And now I'm wearing it as I'm typing... My week has been disastrous. I did some retail therapy and I hate it. I hate buying due to stress.

It was Singapore Fashion Festival - 23 March to 1 April... not Singapore Fashion Week that I have mistaken it to be (which falls usually in November)!! Anyway the point is, I caught one of the fashion shows held in the malls - one of my favourite UK brand, WAREHOUSE. River Island's was on Saturday, but I didn't want to make a trip down to a place some 500m away from my office on the weekend. I'm really bad at estimating distance, so don't take that as a gauge. It's about a 10 minutes walk.

The show started like 15 minutes late... I had 2 shots up at the New Asia Bar, so the delay helps to cool me down after those teeny but "powderful" alcoholic drinks. Work had been hectic, so I thought I should reward myself and do something I have always wanted to try. Go up there alone, order 2 shots or even 4... I think my limit is still 2. LOL. Unless I stay there for a few hours, I can perhaps try 4.

So back to WAREHOUSE, I snapped a couple of pictures... Here are my favourites (clothes):

I lost my shoes

The old ones broke, split its mouth. Actually it's not mine, my sister's. It's strange these things happened. I ever stepped out of my house twice and got to call help to get a new pair because mine just crumbled. Whenever I lent my sister my shoes, the same thing happened. Weird, isn't it?

Fortunately, 100 metres away there are 3 shops I can buy my new shoes from.

Oh well, anyway I needed a pair to match my outfit today. My new outfit from Orange Pages!! My boss compliments my 'hip clubbing outfit'... He he. Though I thought its supposed to be 'punky'. Someone said 'sporty', ummmm that's must be those shoes (old shoes). A very flary white top, stitched on it a butterfly outlined with beads. Matching with a silky baggy black 3/4 trousers which I've to pulled time to time, b'cos the bottom keeps slipping down my calves. Almost turned it into a long pants!! Phew!!! Now I bought a funky shoes to go with it.

I'm attending a dinner in less than an hour, bidding farewell to one colleague. Awww, sad thing when people leave...

My hot date is Wednesday

I'm wearing a dress. Is that a rare sight!!! Maybe.

My colleagues paid me compliments. One asked if I have a hot date tonight. Likely I felt good waking up on this Wednesday, which then resulted in my impulsive decision of selecting a dress. It's my favourite (truthfully I haven't got much others to compare). One, two, three, four... I can count the few I have in my wardrobe.

Curious??? Not of me, but of my dress?! I'll be glad to do a brief description.

Its a very simple blue, but japanese looking dress. I couldn't say why, its not anything kimono alike. But it has these flower & leafy prints with white outlines decorating the bottom edge. It comes to my knees, with slits at the sides. Does it sound japanese now? I don't know why it is that way to me. Okay, the blue is like cloud effect (from photoshop, if you do a filter), mixture of navy blue plus "near teal" blue. Sleeveless. With a drawstring below the bustline, giving it a baby-doll touch; a fold above the bustline, closing a V shaped beneath the collarbone.
