For lunar Chinese New Year, the Chinese seldom do away with the barbecued pork. We call them "Bak Kwa ". It's just like Christmas comes with log cake, turkey and Christmas stollen; Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrates with Bak Kwa, pineapple tarts and Yusheng (raw fish salad). Note that I included pineapple tarts, because they're my MUST-EAT at this festive season (no matter how many KG I'll gain from it!!). And I've linked you to Fragrance brand Bak Kwa, because I bought from them for CNY as well. The above article is also about Fragrance introducing the pig-shaped Bak Kwa!
I found a very interesting site for having your 2007 chinese fortune read. That's only if you're superstitious, click here . Here is how Wikipedia defines CNY, I can't say how accurate or right they are, but it gives you a rough idea! I happened to find a more 'down-to-earth' and a closer description to how we celebrate CNY, actually written by an Ang Moh. Impressive huh. Click here , if you're also an Ang Moh curious in Chinese culture... hehe, it's an easy read I think. Here's a slight alteration of the origin of CNY.
