It is sick

Past midnight...

I am writing this after watching the news on the tsunami hitting the Japan's coast and it's heartbreaking to see them. Japan had a 8.9-magnitude earthquake on Friday, just as I was emailing with the Japan office over a minor issue they had been fussing over the whole morning. The office was evacuated shortly after the quake, I was relieved that they won't be bugging me anymore, but at the same time, I knew it must be quite serious as they had been evacuated. Nobody anticipated the aftermath to be so serious, with the death toll and unaccounted for rising rapidly over the past 24 hours. Like many, we always thought Japan is very well prepared (as they are leading and so advanced in many things)... and besides, earthquakes are known to be common for the area. But this time, it is really bad! Let's all hope that things are falling back into places and no more tremors and tsunami triggered.

There's a rumour about this date 21 December 2012 being the day a big disaster will befall... if you're curious, you can also try searching for the video on youtube.

"Earthquake" in city

Singapore experiences the tremors of an earthquake (neighbouring) again. It was so bad that I sat on my chair and felt as if I had a giddy headache and was going to faint anytime. Suntec security finally called for an evacuation as my office tower is 27-storey high, but geeezz they didn't make any announcement. My colleague rang me up to ask me flee the building. Sigh, how come I am still feeling giddy (I almost typed 'diggy')...

A trigger, again, on the 26th December

2 years ago, tsunami was here (well nearby).

Singapore is flooding... but not due to the earthquake or its triggered tsunami (heard it might trigger one towards east of Philippines), but it all credits to the heavy December rainfall.

The 7.1-magnitude earthquake has brought about a disruption to our internet and telecommunication services in East Asia. IN SINGAPORE TOO!!! I was trying to do some internet research yesterday morning, I couldn't log on my MSN, not even say yahoo or google. Just as I was about to seek help from IT helpdesk (which I bet many did), a colleague came over and told me the culprit was yesterday's earthquake at Taiwan. Little did I know that these cables are actually planted underwaters. Now it's back and running, but still lagging slightly.

th December, what a day!
