DIY food

Done these over the last Sunday with my lil sis. It's awesome to do it with someone because usually I can't be bothered to make a mess out of the kitchen! It was meant to be her baking but ended up I kinda enjoyed helping her out... ;)

The cookies are amazing, the soft ones feel like the freshly baked Subway cookies, while the golden brown ones are like Famous Amos chocolate chips cookies! It's a little sweet, I hate adding the amount of sugar I'm instructed to on the recipes, next time it's wiser to probably gauge the amount of sugar ourselves.

I was doing the lemon sorbet myself with my lil sis taking the whole time just preparing the lemon zest. It didn't quite freeze that night, so I came home after work on Monday, mashed it up with a fork and then transferred it over to a box. Looks like I have bought it somewhere, isn't it! It's pretty sour, and just the way we like it! (Apparently, sorbet is also known as sherbet which is considered as frozen drink!)

Evening tea

I had a tea date with my buddy. We decided to go for this place named TeaDot in Tampines 1 after a quick dinner. Read about it, walked past it and it does seem like a nice place to chill and it is when the band is not "creating a scene" downstairs. It is apparently started by 2 aspiring students whom have given on up engineering to start this - bravo move!

They have it at 2 places if I'm not wrong... in the 2 new malls. Tampines 1 and Iluma.

It's a refreshing concept and I like the idea of "tea". So many coffee joints around, in fact, too many... finally someone hasn't left out his poor neglected partner, tea. I do like tea and if given a choice will at any time choose tea over coffee. I am sure it appeals to many people whom think alike. It is a bit pricey, but they are having a promotion of ordering 2 regular drinks and you get the cake at 1/2 price. Considering that they do source their cakes from 5* hotels (I read), it seems quite worth to give it a go.

I enjoyed my Simply Matcha quite a lot, because it's simple. Just a simple drink. Green tea frappe. Think healthy! Mmmmm.... My friend had this one called Little Red Fuji which is a fuji apple frappe, which tasted pretty refreshing too. Think no sugarload. We have chosen the Wild Jackfruit cake after I read it's a good choice on a review and is something we don't very often see in the cake shop.

p.s: Nice place to chill with a lappy, they do have power plug and wireless@SG.

♥ smoothies ♥

The favourite drinks of my life - smoothies!!!!!!! I will consider milkshakes but still fruit smoothies are the best.

Today I made Banana smoothie for home... My parents have never heard of a drink called "smoothie"!!!! OMG, damned, I wish I have made more for them in the past. They didn't know the thing you can do by just adding milk or yogurt to the fruits that can make it so yummm...

I remember my last try was wild berries smoothie which I made with a tiny box of fresh blueberries with strawberry yogurt, it was that good that I finished all of it myself! Ooopps. The blueberries were kinda sour, so it worked pretty well to have a sweetened yogurt to go with it.

I shall share the Banana smoothie recipe with you so you can try it out too... I got it from BBC recipes. However, double it if you're doing for more people... as it only serves 1. I did 4 bananas (depending on the size too), 2 spoonfuls of honey, lots of ice, and 400 over ml of milk.

Dad said it tasted like ice-cream, creamy and delicious. I bet mum liked it too, she finished the whole cup! I still have one big mug in the fridge for myself... hehe.

Ingredients
1 banana, peeled and sliced
½ pint milk
handful of ice
1-2 tbsp honey

Method
1. Place the banana, milk, ice and honey in a blender and then blend until smooth.
2. Transfer to a serving glass and serve at once.

Yummy healthy boost

New found treasure... for health conscious yogurt lovers!

I love shakes, any kind. Milk shake. Fruit shake. Yogurt shake.

Yesterday, I was craving for Nasi Lemak, so I bought myself a packet just before dinner time and had it. Shiok. But too spicy, and I ended up in Cold Storage buying a cold drink. So while having the drink, I was standing by this stall, Pink Yogurt. There was a little queue, so I got curious and while finishing my drink I was staring at the menu and that huge variety of pretty looking ingredients and fanciful flavours of yogurt.

Yes. I was tempted. Very...

So I decided even though I was pretty full and despite having my thirst quenched, I would still buy one to try!! I thought it was a little greedy of me, but good things in life are not meant be resisted. I picked the combo of two of my favourite things: Oreo & Banana. A shake, by the way.

3 pieces of oreo cookies, a (slightly unripe) banana and scoops of gourmet yogurt... (I think he added some syrup which I assume it's coloring or some sort). Lots of ice. Blended. And here comes my "sesame looking" yogurt!!

Fragrant smelling (banana) with a bit of sourness from the unripe banana and bits of oreo cookies nicely blended in, finished off with some little jelly balls topping... A healthy boost and a very nice tasting one. I will definitely come by to try the others... :))

They have also awesome looking flavoured yoghurt which are topped with such pretty yummy toppings. They look like eye candy to me... I couldn't resist not snapping a few pictures to share with you guys :)))
