Flying budget

I just thought I would share these with you guys... Flying budget~

I'm not sure how many of you are fans of budget airlines, I have friends whom do not like the idea of them. They want to be pampered on a holiday, and thus with food and personal entertainment. Since they started in Asia, I have been quite a regular customer of them... unless on some occasions, the budget flights cost as much as the economy or when I feel like I deserve a little pampering.

If it's just a couple of hours, it's often easy to waste by taking a nap, reading a book, listening to music or even playing games (on your phone or handheld PSP) onboard. We can also do without the food. Sneak some in if you dare ;) Or just spend a couple of bucks in the plane. Sometimes it annoys me when I do want to order food on the plane, and they told me they have ran out of it even when the plane isn't half filled. Do they know they have hungry passengers who are willing to pay??? I also recall my sister wanting to buy a duty free product onboard but was told it was only available on selected flights, if so, why do they not mention in the catalogue! Well it does happen on a normal flight as well, if you're unlucky. Also, bear in mind, you have limited baggage allowance and it's often not worth it to get more the last minute. My sister was made to pay an extra 40-45 bucks for just exceeding a few kilos.

But there surely got to be good stuff too! Besides the cheap fare, in Asia, they often still fly to the international airport unlike in Europe, they go to some remote airport meant for budget airlines. It happened to me twice I had bought tickets way in advance due to promotions, later on I was informed of the change of flight timings. It happens, especially when the route is newly introduced and timing seems to be relative when they are still working things out. So I got lucky. I would usually pick the dates with the lowest fares and they are often not my ideal, but when such things happen, I am then offered new dates to reschedule my flight to :D I am not sure if this is a tip, but surely this is a good trick I am sure.
