Lob-Xi Fatt Cai dinner @ Manhattan Fish Market, Plaza Singapura.
A sumptuous meal to welcome the new year of Tiger.
One fine day, I was on my way to work or was it the other way round, someone handed me a piece of trash. First glance at it, there was this bowl of seafood accompanied with calamari and fries. It looked good, and the price was even better, at $28.80++, 1 for 1. It sure caught my attention. Another fine afternoon, I decided to look online for the location of the restaurants. It was a lucky day! I spotted their online promotion, it was almost identical to the pamphlet except for one thing. They are having a special deal on 1st February, 7-9pm, at all restaurants for $18.80++, 1 for 1. Imagine having lobster, fish, calamari, rice and chips on the plate for that amount of money??? Can you believe it? I couldn't and so I rang and put my name down on the waiting list.
Monday came. I reminded all the attendees about the dinner, because the absentee shall be punished with guilt from missing such a good deal. When we arrived, the place was packed, the queue was already piling very quickly. I told them I had my name on the waiting list but I saw all the names on the waiting list being crossed out! Fortunately we were still on the priority of the queue and got a table soon after. We waited quite a bit for the food but drinks were served promptly and all I can say is, the Lob-Xi Fatt Cai meal was so damned worth the wait! I would have ordered a second if my stomach had the extra capacity! I had imagined that the food wasn't going to be as representable as it was on the ad but I was proved wrong. Even though that was 10 dollars off the promotion, we weren't given any less than as advertised.
Manhattan Fish, keep it up!!!
You did a wonderful promotion, and a very delicious dinner... It's certainly worth a second visit anytime!
Talking about it, wonder if I shall elaborate on the food? Well, I have said it's so worth the wait and money, I guess that would have said a lot. To top it off, the lobsters served were fresh and the meat was juicy... the accompanying sauce makes the whole experience even better. Mine wasn't as red as I would like but it was equally tasty! It filled us up pretty much, there was rice, calamari, fries and 3 pieces of fish which were crispy to the very last of the breadcrumb!
p.s: I'll put up a picture soon ;)
p.s.s: 谢了老爸 for the Chinese characters' aid
