I finally convinced myself to step into the salon... I was hesitating if I should just leave it to grow, but then decided against it. Walked to the mall barely 5mins from my house, I browsed through my choices. Twister (under Monsoon Group) is having a $20.90 promotion, a $5 discount from the usual price for "Wash, Cut & Blow". I used to visit Storm (also under the same group) but located 2 malls away. So I decided to give it a go.
The "Wash" was extremely professional with a head massage. They shampoo-ed my hair on the chair itself and then I was told to head to wash it off. I recalled a very weird one where they cut my hair first before washing, and I was told it works the same vice versa (I must be very easily deceived!!). Anyway, I enjoyed the whole washing process except for a few times she might have pulled a little hard... otherwise it was perfect with the complimentary massage.
When it comes to the "Cut & Blow", I was quite disappointed with the stylist (no names here as I don't want to ruin her reputation). I'm just not going to ask for her or another FEMALE stylist again... I especially dislike it when you're there just for a cut, they tried to promote you everything else (perming, rebonding, treatment or products). I guess it's normal but when customers say "NO", just respect it, else they won't come back again! She has dyed copper long hair that appear sleek, a thick plastic frames that made her kind of stylish. Casually tucked in bermudas and black stockings, she looks familiar but I do not know her for sure. During the "Cut & Blow", her attention was divided at many places, from new walk-in customers to running around the salon... and she dropped the comb, the clip... I haven't seen a hair stylist (and a LEADING hair stylist) so clumsy and unprofessional before, she didn't check with me if the length was fine or if there was anything I would like to improve to the final cut till I told her I wanted the fringe shorter. Service? What kind of service? Even when she was blowing my hair, she wasn't even concentrating. Her eyes roamed and her feet wandered. I had to wait for a few minutes in between here and there before she finally done the job. Thanks but no more!
A promotional price equals a hair cut with compromised and discounted service.
p.s: Thank God, I still look presentable...!!
