K550i is finally (again) discharged. He now seems much better, but due to that brain surgery I suspect he is still trying to recover his mobility. I'll give it some time, I am recovering the fondness I had of him again. Poor fella, I'll take good care of him...I realized I can never get rid of my impatience. I wonder how could I have wanted to be a nurse when I was 10 years old... Now 15 years later, I have to admit I don't have much of the quality to excel in that profession. Just yesterday, I visited the polyclinic to have a check on my occasional joint pain, which ended up with me getting quite fed up.
I went over at about 1pm, the clinic opened up again at 2pm after lunch. So I got a Q number, registered and got assigned to room no. 14. As the clock struck 2, you hear all the numbers being called at all other rooms. At 2.20pm, every other room has already seen at least 2 patients and I am still outside waiting (me being room 14's first patient). 5minutes later, impatience really got the side of me, I went down to the counter and requested to change doctor (therefore, change room no.). At this point of time, room 14 has just called my number, I was so pissed that I insisted I wanted a new doctor assigned to me. Anyhow the doctors at these polyclinics never seem good enough, they sent me to do an X-ray of both knees and came back telling me she didn't know what's wrong with it, except that it could possibly be like
Osteoarthritis - okay, and no medication and NOTHING is given to me. She offered me painkillers but WTF, I told her it doesn't hurt anymore. This doctor doesn't even have an idea of how many kinds of joint pain there are besides this
Osteoarthritis!!! I'm terribly disappointed, I asked her Qs she couldn't even give me an answer and instead asked if I want to be referred to a specialist. WTF.
Anyway they just sucked. Polyclinic doctors are probably the best bet for flu, fever, diarrhea, cough and headache but NOTHING ELSE. Shouldn't doctors have an idea of everything, not explicit details but a rough idea, if he/she is not sure, don't make wrong assumption, ask advice of another doctor or refer me to someone who has a better idea.
Jesus, this is polyclinic, and I will probably not go back to them again.
I suspect I have a better idea than this doctor does actually. I have been reading up and on the symptoms I have, it seems like I have
Chondromalacia patellae (also known as
CMP,
Patello-femoral Pain Syndrome, or
Runner's Knee). It is a degenerative condition of the cartilage surface of the back of the knee cap, or patella. It produces discomfort or dull pain around or behind the patella. It is common in young adults, especially players, cyclists, rowers, tennis players, ballet dancers and runners.
Wonder if my short stint at dragon boating has to do with this...
