mein kamera baby

My new baby is Fujifilm F31fd. A 6 mega pixels but does wonder night shots.

Previously I was tempted to get Panasonic Lumix FX01/07/30, for your information, they are just newer replacement of each other, i.e. FX 30 (which is a 7.2 mega pixels) replaces FX07 which in turns replaces FX01. After reading through various digital camera reviews, participated in photography forum and hearing from the mouth of a digital gadget salesman, my final pick is Fujifilm over Panasonic Lumix. I so wanted to get Panasonic for 2 reasons: 1. slim & compact 2: wide angle lens that offers 16:9 ratio pictures. But are these 2 reasons sufficient for me, in fact the price are almost the same...

I decided to do a more rational reasoning and comparison between the two. I want:
1. Good macro
2. Good night shots
3. Slim & light to carry
4. Manual control
5. Minimum noise at high ISO
6. Wide angle (optional)
7. High mega-pixels (optional)

Both are comparable at macro shots. However when it comes to pt. 2, 4 and 5, Fujifilm clearly outstands its competitor. I will get Panasonic Lumix once they improve their noise, include manual control and still in a slim package. Even as many others have also agreed the Fujifilm looks nothing appealing on its physical aspect, yet it is truly a wonderful small package. Not as slim but still light, not as pretty/stylish but still alright! So way to go... I'm pleased with it so far (BTW, all HK pictures are taken with that).

Ok, but one thing, face detection sucks... I don't think I need that feature anyway!
