Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
After watching the lengthy "almost 3hours" film, the only memory I have left today is captain Jack Sparrow. I find him hilarious. Besides that, I'm totally lost. A Pirates of the Caribbean movie marathon will help as I couldn't recall and a lot of question marks were in my head. Lots of action, not a lot of thrill, quite a bit of romance and some comedy. Boy, that monkey is a little star too... All in all, I wouldn't say I'm impressed by POC 3, in fact a little disappointed. I have expected more.
Not much to say, except if you love an action packed movie, this is for you!
My rating: 3.5/5
p.s: Sorry, not in the writing mood to elaborate... after a stressful interview earlier. Man, that was hard...

Life is how you make it interesting
6 months since I have started work at Suntec and I've devised a few ways of getting to work (as in from the MRT station to my office tower that usually takes up to 15 minutes)... Routine does bore me, and I need to find some excitment. I seek them!
(A) On a lazy day or an awful shoes' day, there's always the Shuttle Service from City Hall
(B) Walk along Nicoll Highway from Bugis, enjoy the carbon monoxide suicide trail
(C) Walk through Shaw Tower from Bugis, up and down the overhead bridge, this is meant for the physically fit and those with high endurance for warm morning walk
(D) Walk through City Link for sheltered air-conditioned comfort but lots of time-consuming turns
For more Vitamin D3, besides option (B). here's another few methods.
(E) From City Hall, you can
1. walk through Raffles City, exit at the door
a. nearest to Raffles Plaza, half air-conditioned, half sunny walk
b. nearest to Swissotel, still air-conditioned but more sunny walk
2. exit at the door on the right after ascending from escalator (before you even pass through Raffles City or Starbucks), a good sunny walk
If exit from option 1.
c. cross towards Raffles Hotel, across another 3 more routes straight ahead towards Suntec City, enjoy the construction going on by the road
d. cross 2 roads straight ahead (right amid of a few road constructions) before coming to one on the left and re-join the people from option c., however risk your head being hit by some dangerous object swinging up there! (believe me, this one is at least 1 traffic light faster due to the green light timing, that is if you walk briskly like me)
If exit from option 2., coming before the next zebra crossing, you can choose
e. turn left, walk along the Taxi stand outside Swissotel to catch a sight of business men in suits Q-ing up for taxis and then resume to the above c. or d. option
f. cross zebra crossing and one more road, you head towards Esplanade but turn left at the end (because there's no crossing on the main road) and you get to resume to end of route d.
g. cross zebra and one more road, turn left and walk along the traffic before you resume to mid of route d., didn't really like this route because you get car drivers whom stopped at the traffic staring at your bum!
Isn't it amazing that some people take one route for their whole timespan they are at their job, while nutty people like me are always coming up at new ideas. Uuummm... I shall not continue on the return trip from work as I usually do a lot of de-tour (to Marina Square or Millenia Walk or even Bugis), but one tip for people working at Suntec Towers. If the shuttle bus from Suntec is too crowded, try getting the one at Millenia ;)
By the way I have another silly thought, does one person who walk under the sun and out on the road burns more calories than someone who rather takes the sheltered route through City Link???

Two of the world's ends
2 calls came in today...
I managed to get hold of the person whom rang me on Friday which we had missed each other thrice!! He sounds really nice and helpful and I keep my fingers crossed to be shortlisted for this job, which happens to be a really GOOD company as well (with that, I mean the employee/staff welfare).
The other call made me totally fuming, over the conversation, the agent actually reduced the offered salary (which was advertised) to 20-30% lesser. Hey, I'm not an idiot, if you offered that salary range on the job advertisement, but am only now willingly to pay me so much lesser (than the minimum end of that range), where does the extra 20-30% goes to?? Of course, without a doubt, to the job agency. I really despise such dishonest acts, so I told her, I've got better offers coming at me!

GSS madness
Know what? I didn't end up buying anything in Topshop (phew!).
I took half a day off yesterday, but the plan to send my camera for a check up was abolished after huge amount of consideration. The repair centre is too far out, I need to take an hour on the bus or take a train, switch to a bus and walk for a distance. My camera works fine, just that it makes some mechanical noises during focusing, I guess I should close one eye and really take it to service should it get any worse. Singaporeans, we should relax right... don't get all uptight about the slightest matter... OK, I'm getting there;) Hahaha
And then I spent the afternoon at VivoCity.
The GREAT SINGAPORE SALE (in short, GSS) has started yesterday... In fact, some shops were already having sale before the GSS, that's the spirit of Kiasu-ism. Victimssssssssssssss... I am one of them. Then again I have bought two things which aren't on sale, but because I liked them so much and probably if there is a sale, they might be out of stock! Besides my usual craze for socks, stockings and leggings, my new addition on the list is headbands (or hairbands). I got 4 yesterday at M)phosis (another local brand, see I'm such a great supporter). Unfortunately I wasn't the only one, many Singaporeans are great M)phosis fans and the shop was packed. I could hardly move around, it was a lot of squeezing and "excuse me".
I decided that this weekend I should be indoor and no more swiping my poor debit card!
The best timing not to ring me is during shopping hours, because I almost never would hear it!!! And damn, my job application #10 chose to ring me yesterday and we never managed to get hold of one another. They rang twice, I rang back, they rang back, and I rang twice back!!! I guess I really need to catch them on Monday, don't want to lose another job opportunity!

La la la... hier ich komme
Finally I sent out job application #10, whooo... Wondering if I should feel relieved or anxious?? Relieved and hopeful that one of 10 might work out or anxious that I have sent 10 and nothing is still on my plate yet. Just as I am about to take a break from my active mouse-clicking search, I have 2 missed calls while I was away from my desk. Heeeee... my 2nd job interview (from my job application #01) is coming up! And it's a German Company, exciting!
I think I'm hitting Topshop in a happy mood, oh no!

Goodiessss, gooniesssss
Sister got home slightly past midnight (which is literally today) with a few bags of shopping. Who can resist not buying in Bangkok, considering a bag now at Bugis Street can easily come up to $59.90! Anyway, she didn't splurge as much as I (and my whole family) would have thought so. It was a huge relief, as our tiny room can no longer accommodate dozens of new bags/clothes. She bought quite a few things for herself, my little sister and I each got a "Food Packaging" bag, which is pretty "in" and cool. I think they will be a hit if I am to import and sell them down Covent Garden in London:) I found the pictures online;))

Jobs. No luck. I have so far sent out 8 applications. 4 no replies. 4 rang me up. However, it is still not coming. Out of 8, 1 interview so far. 3 which rang me are job agencies (either to go down for a chat or a brief phone interview), they have sent to the clients on my behalf and I am waiting............... It has become quite annoying and tiring that I stopped searching for a couple of days. No one said job hunting is easy, right? So I'm back on and looking... and looking... and looking! I can only keep my fingers crossed that the next one I hold on to will be something challenging and what I have been wanting to do - Web advertising/E-marketing!

The black Spidey

Have you all been wondering why the Spiderman has a new costume... I have been wondering for a while since I last saw the poster and Burger King's promotion toy! Well I got 2 of the toys, because they are actually quite a collection.
Back to the movie...
I kinda love it... there are many parts of it that I certainly like. Compared to the first two, I felt this is less mushy and lovey-dovey, it actually caters well for the male audience whom usually are into actions. I enjoy them, at some point my heart was even racing with the actor... I watched with my mouth open and fist close to my chest!
In this episode, Spiderman tells us,"Life is all about choices you make!" There are times we took the wrong steps, e.g. dated the wrong men, made the wrong decisions, done illegal things... Can we forgive, can we undo, can we learn from it and move on??? There are many times the devil is there to convince us to find revenge, to make the person pay/suffer for their deed. However if we do take time to see the good in ourselves and most importantly in others, perhaps we would be doing it differently?!
Spiderman 3 has not only demonstrated high value placed in friendship, relationship and also kinship, Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) has also revealed a more relaxed and entertaining side;) Harry Osborn (James Franco) has such a gorgeous smile and it's a shame he died... AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh :~(
I had to release myself during the 140minutes. Sad, but I always have to use the restroom if the film is over 2hours! I missed some parts. Can any kind soul tell me what happened following the scene that Harry regained his memory and went to threaten Mary Jane... MISSING!!!! When I returned, Harry and Peter are fighting over Mary Jane's kiss (which tasted like strawberry)!!
Go watch it and you'll know why Spiderman has a black suit!!
My rating: 4/5 definitely for the thrills!!
One is enough!

Less than 45 minutes, I'll be catching Spiderman 3... It's not the first time I felt a sudden urge or desire to watch a movie and I just bought the ticket within the next minutes. I enjoy such spontaneity and must be my 4th or 5th time doing it alone since. It never felt odd to be a loner in the cinema, afterall when you watch a show, you usually don't talk to one another... doesn't make a big difference to have a friend sitting next to you. (p.s. will update review soon)
The keropok man is at the door of my office, and this is bad, because these people tend to "psycho" you into buying, okay or maybe humans are just too easily tempted... If you do not understand the malay word keropok, here's an explanation I found. I bought the fish crackers, thinking my mum would loved that! OK, even on an average working day I can spend up to $15 a day... this is where all the hard earned money is vanishing to:(
The Carl's Jr.'s Famous Star burger is still in my stomach since I had it at 230pm... I was so hungry by then that I nearly ordered it as "Famous Five", no idea how that came to my head though. Why five?? My mind seems to think in numbers... I normally don't do big burgers and fastfood burgers, I guess this has to be an exception as I was starving! Sigh, read here how unhealthy one big burger can be. Time to keep weight in check.

A weekend without woes
Friday night, I treated myself to a scoop of dark chocolate gelato, pampered my dull skin with the new Lush's deep cleansing peppermint mask. Very relaxing, as you can imagine... ;)
Saturday, part of my face appears to be allergic to the mask I had the previous night... it wasn't too serious and I had an appointment to go. The lower left cheek had a couple of tiny red spots (like pimples or mosquito bites). After a few constant applications of aloe vera gel, it didn't seem to aggravate, which is a good sign. So I decided to go along to Kinokuniya with my friend, to shop for "girly", feminine or women's magazines. We had a good browse at the japanese fashion magazines which many people (girls) here are into now, she got those while I ended up buying a british magazine AGAIN. Well I have already gotten one japanese magazine from HK. 5 hours of walking before finally I could rest my feet, still couldn't find a good pair of slippers-cum-flats-cum-sandals that I need. Sigh, I succumbed to temptation again. Flesh Imp, a local brand, has sale up to 70%... and you know we should support local brands, right? I swear they have one of the nicest collection of cool & punky tee shirts, or jersey jackets;) So...
Sister left for Bangkok early Sunday morning, it leaves me to my room alone for 2 nights, very pleased about this. I forced myself up at 930am each morning just to catch the Doraemon cartoon in time!! I love them, no matter how grown-up I am! Sunday is supposed to be lazy, but I made myself changed my sheets, cleaned my window grilles and ran errand for mum & dad (grocery shopping!). My face has recovered but I'm mentally exhausted by 10pm :)
Spiderman 2 on tv last night made me want to watch Spiderman 3 NOW!!!!!!!

Give me some Bear's love
Slowly chewing away my almond pretzel coated with caramel, sitting on a bench among the tall office buildings, the raindrops slowly fell on my head. Ignoring them, I continued with my slow nibbling. The pretzel was too sweet. I don't really have a sweet tooth and especially not a fan of caramel. This is my 6th pretzel in 5 months?? I have now 6 stamps to redeem the next one free... Yet, I'm not excited at all. I'm getting sick of things very easily, and I mean at a fast rate. I looked up at the grey sky, talked to myself,"Shit! Please don't rain!" I managed to stuff myself with the pretzel, not feeling very happy about the sweetness lingering inside me. I began to head back to the building with my leftover Pudding milk tea. Not long after, it started pouring... really heavily.
Tommy, a colleague (who also happens to be the "joker" among us), just told me he's also leaving the company. Coincidentally, it falls on the same week (our last day), and he was quite pleased with the fact he is leaving earlier than me! At least, a day earlier. It's kind of funny!! Somehow, I'm relieved I'm not alone and I won't be too sad to go.
I'm tired... I need some baby love from Knut.

mein kamera baby
My new baby is Fujifilm F31fd. A 6 mega pixels but does wonder night shots.
Previously I was tempted to get Panasonic Lumix FX01/07/30, for your information, they are just newer replacement of each other, i.e. FX 30 (which is a 7.2 mega pixels) replaces FX07 which in turns replaces FX01. After reading through various digital camera reviews, participated in photography forum and hearing from the mouth of a digital gadget salesman, my final pick is Fujifilm over Panasonic Lumix. I so wanted to get Panasonic for 2 reasons: 1. slim & compact 2: wide angle lens that offers 16:9 ratio pictures. But are these 2 reasons sufficient for me, in fact the price are almost the same...
I decided to do a more rational reasoning and comparison between the two. I want:
1. Good macro
2. Good night shots
3. Slim & light to carry
4. Manual control
5. Minimum noise at high ISO
6. Wide angle (optional)
7. High mega-pixels (optional)
Both are comparable at macro shots. However when it comes to pt. 2, 4 and 5, Fujifilm clearly outstands its competitor. I will get Panasonic Lumix once they improve their noise, include manual control and still in a slim package. Even as many others have also agreed the Fujifilm looks nothing appealing on its physical aspect, yet it is truly a wonderful small package. Not as slim but still light, not as pretty/stylish but still alright! So way to go... I'm pleased with it so far (BTW, all HK pictures are taken with that).
Ok, but one thing, face detection sucks... I don't think I need that feature anyway!

Waiting for the green light
I was told I looked "more refreshed" coming back to work after my Hong Kong trip... and I begin to think that traveling has become an addiction. If I am allowed no holiday for a couple of months, my whole world seems to be hovered with dark clouds. Hong Kong definitely wasn't enough, I thought a good 4 days would do it, but it passed by quicker than the new French LGV Est européenne train. I am already hoping to go somewhere next, but nowhere is definite as yet.
Boss has been asking me Qs & Qs on whether I have sent my resume, whether I get any interviews coming up and how's my job search going... At times, I felt he is even more anxious than me. Does he want me to stay?? We had a discussion and I have decided not to renew the contract unless a permanent position that does something different is being offered.
Since my previous job, I have developed a limit to enduring a job. If I get bored, easily frustrated, and bothered about the tasks I am doing, then my light red is already blinking. If I start to ask myself why are my weekends too short and hate waking up in the morning, this red light is blinking real fast. If I come into work and take forever to open up my Lotus notes because I dread receiving the work emails... it is telling me something!! The red light is turning yellow and very soon green, it's time to GO!!!!!!

香港 - Eat, drink, shop (III)
I hope this will be my last entry about Hong Kong else some people might start snoring soon...
Okay, I'm getting a bit lazy to write lengthy stories about the places... How about I list them in point form and do a little elaboration? Sounds good?

All in all, I have really enjoyed Hong Kong! There are really some things I like about it and now I miss it:((
Madame Tussauds
Food & Places to eat
Sightsee & general
* I have cut down from a massive heap of 1000 (300 from mine, 700 from my cousin's!!). Be rest assured, I only have uploaded about 130 photos:)))
p.s: I'd love to visit Lantau Island's Big Buddha next time, Lai Kwai Fong's nightlife, Ocean park (maybe), do The Peak again (maybe try climb one-way), see Stanley/Jade Market and perhaps do a Macau daytrip with portuguese egg tart!! So I'll need a good stamina buddy who's up for more "physically exerting" activities:))
Okay, I'm getting a bit lazy to write lengthy stories about the places... How about I list them in point form and do a little elaboration? Sounds good?
- Star Ferry's Harbour with clock tower - last few times to witness the star ferry boats which are said to be ceasing operation
- Avenue of Stars together with Symphony of Lights - wasn't as exciting as it was said to be, but nice cool weather with the colorfully lit up skyscrapers...

- Madame Tussauds together with The Peak (tram ride too) - it was just great fun, magnificient sight plus really expensive food up there

- Jordan - place with lots of good food around (Australia Dairy's Co. is here)
- Mongkok - where I permed my hair at Esprit Salon, a big hole in the pocket... I guess SG is about that rate but I get served by a top stylist, why not! where we found the famous wife's biscuit, Hang Heung! where our hostel is conveniently located opposite the Ladies' market
- Causeway Bay - trendy shops that opened damn late, 1pm, and prices aren't any cheaper than SG. where a huge SOGO is situated. where Times Square is but only for upper class shopping

- Central - where I found H&M!! and quite a nice place to shop actually if I have the time the next time...
- Branded sale at warehouse - Esprit, Adidas, New Balance, blah blah
- Wong Tai Sin temple

- Markets - walked among the mongkok wet market, ladies' market, wan chai's market...
- Hong Kong International Airport - where we ate Hui Lau San, bought much affordable priced magazines (than Singapore)
- Festival Walk (shopping mall) - where I found LUSH!!! and we had Ajisen noodles
All in all, I have really enjoyed Hong Kong! There are really some things I like about it and now I miss it:((
- Japanese presence: Japanese brands which have closed down in SG or are more expensive e.g. Aji Ichiban, Sogo, Ajisen; Japanese stuff (magazines, cosmetics, lots & lots of japan guidebooks at low prices, etc)
- Cheap transport system: I haven't got to try the HK$2 electric tram!!! We used the MTR a lot though, but I think it's still possible to walk a lot of the times provided you're in no rush
- Late opening hours: Supper is always possible, so is shopping. Markets & malls open up to 1130 or even midnights. Not to mention 7-11 is everywhere, one every 2 streets:))
- Big Breakfast: The most important meal of the day! Breakfast is emphasized, the portion is huge and often you can even skip lunch if you've a small stomach and do a tea-break;)
- Weather: The weather ranges from 23 to 28 degrees while I was there, and is no way is as humid as Singapore, how cool is it to visit in winter time - I will try that!

我又回来了!!
I'm back!!
Now I'm going to continue my eating around HK experiment... Being too adventurous, my first lunch was spicy beef balls with fish noodle (noodle made from fish meat!) after a stick of spicy fishballs from the street hawker. Chili padi in homemade beef balls! Sounds yummy, right? It was so hot that I had to order a bottle of Coca-Cola... and everything started to go really wrong. For the whole day, I couldn't eat anything. I felt so full, right to the time I went to bed. At 2am, I couldn't hold on anymore, I just threw up! I reckon it must be indigestion... after swallowing a bottle of 保濟丸, and a second one the next afternoon, I recovered! But that morning I didn't even have the appetite for a sumptuous breakfast, so sad... but here's what we had!
This above picture is taken at Australia Dairy Co. where it is also famous for the steamed egg with milk or 炖奶 (if I write it correctly ;P), shall show you what the "egg white" version looks like! The texture feels a bit like 豆花,but carries such a fragrant sweetness that makes you yearning for more. Thank you Lezann for the kind recommendation, I also found this in a magazine review;)
Not forgetting a 菠蘿包 茶餐厅 named 中国冰室 which I found through a local magazine I bought;) The pineapple bun is heated with butter(also named "buttered pineapple bun" or 菠蘿油) shown in the picture below, you can't get enough on a carbo-deprived day! We also had breakfast there, tried their 鸳鸯冰 (an icy drink with red beans, pineapple and lotus seeds) and 杏仁蛋糊(raw egg in hot almond drink) shown in the picture below buttered pineapple bun。

We had dim sum breakfast at "Fa yuan" restaurant which is mainly patronized by the locals, thus the service wasn't exceptional as again language seems to be a barrier. Quality was so-so, thus not showing you any pictures! I think the 鼎泰豐 (which has also branches in Singapore)'s 小笼包 is much better than the ones I had over there. There must be better dim sum places around - shall look for it the next time!
Before I end my HK eating adventure here, let me name you the must-eat dessert place. Hui Lau San or 许留山 which is also recommended to me by Xiuling, I think a picture speaks louder than words... so shall end it off with my "Bird nest mango pudding".

老婆饼,迪士尼乐园,臭豆腐,女人街,太平山顶。。。
In English: "Wife's biscuit", Disneyland, "Smelly tofu", Ladies' market, The Peak
Doesn't those words remind you of vibrant Hong Kong?? However if you would to ask me to describe Hong Kong with also 5 words or 5 things that reminds me of HK, my answers would be LUSH, H&M, Madame Tussauds, MTR, Watsons... These are the things I have closely associated with for the past couple of days.
Staying in a hostel was a nice choice, as it definitely saves us at least 30% from the lowest hotel rate you could find. And now you can direct those money to lavish shopping - especially at the flea markets. There were countless markets, however if you DO NOT speak CANTONESE (like me), you'll be very handicapped when it comes to bargaining. Most of the time, I didn't even feel like bargaining, I just asked the price and left!! Do not bargain and walk away without buying, I tell you, these rude people will swear their heads off.
Being in Hong Kong with Cantonese's incapability, I felt very crippled. In fact, very uncomfortable. I wonder how the tourists (ang mo) and their expatriates get by!!! Okay, back to flea markets, we missed Stanley's but ended up walking at Wan Chai and Bowstring street (near Temple street) and got some good bargains. I didn't get much from Ladies' market which is just across the road from our hostel, reason 1: can't bargain in cantonese 2: things aren't of very good quality 3: prices aren't dirt cheap, and if you bargain, you better buy!
Before coming to HK, I have already done my research... I'm not looking for Esprit or Giordano or I.T. but I am there to patronize my favourite stores (which I used to go in London) and aren't available in Singapore!!

I'll go on about food and sightseeing in my next entry... for now, I need some sleep!!

London in Asia = Hong Kong
Tommy and little Phantom bear welcomed me home to Singapore (to bed)... after a starving 3+ hours flight on Jetstar, only arriving minutes before midnight.
The flight was smooth, service wasn't too bad except that they do not have ENOUGH FOOD onboard. NO HOT MEALS or even SANDWICHES after serving 8 rows before us, I couldn't believe our luck or that they do not carry even enough food for 50% of the capacity (wasn't even a full flight!).
I shall begin my long story about the 4 days 3 nights after I write my thoughts about Hong Kong.
Somehow stepping into Hong Kong reminds me a lot of London city, it wasn't anything in particular but I felt it. Once under the British occupation/colony, I bet that must have been an influence. I have missed a chance to visit back in 2003 when I was supposed to stop-over on my way back to Singapore from London. SARS ruined it. After watching so many HK films and drama serials, those scene of the streets, red cabs and old buildings became alive right in front of me... Only thing that was missing is probably the hooligans or secret society they rumoured to exist in HK.
As I was walking among the streets of Hong Kong... something in my head clicked. Singapore is like Switzerland in Europe, Hong Kong is like London. And then all sorts of reasons surfaced... It is quite funny, but that's how my mind works a lot of the time.
* Dear friends and random readers, what you're going to read below is entirely based on my perception and might not state the facts as it is of today. So just read it for fun but not use it as a judgement of the places or countries.

London & Hong Kong *
- One main common language (Cantonese in HK; English in London)
- Tube similar to MTR (the way it is structured, exits located in buildings)
- Cosmopolitan, however the locals and foreigners are not a good blend together (you can still witness some racism, sikhs being cursed for no reason)
- Cities which has a lot to offer (so much going on and lots to do)
- Both have each a Madame Tussauds (hahaha)
- Lots of big and similar malls (Harrods, Harvey Nicholas, Selfridges in London; Lane Crawford, Sogo, Esprit in HK)
via
Zurich & Singapore *
- One common language but most people are bilingual or trilingual (English in both places; with German & French (& Italian) in Switzerland; with Mandarin/Chinese Dialect, Tamil and Malay in Singapore)
- Diversified population, with emphasis on foreign talent/expatriates
- Not the most exciting place to be in (as in not that much to do), but a good place to travel to surrounding countries/areas

Knut, Knut, Knut
Spiegel says:
"Knut Steadily Getting Less Cute
It's a tragic fact of life. Celebrity polar bear cub Knut, now almost five months old, is gradually mutating from a fluffy porridge-lapping cub into a heavy bruiser with a penchant for meat off the bone. But the visitors are still flocking to see him."
Now, at least someone (some animal) is also gaining weight like me! Little Knut gains about 200g every day and now he weighs a chubby 17kg!
"Knut's faithful handler Thomas Dörflein has taken to wearing long-sleeved shirts or pullovers and gloves to protect himself when he handles Knut. But the polar bear cub immediately obeys when Dörflein has had enough and tells him to stop biting him with the stern command "Aus!""
Little Knut will soon become a big polar bear and be no longer the once-so-cute-baby. He might chomp and no longer bite harmlessly and innocently. How scary when that day arrives... Right now, looking at him playing with Thomas (his keeper), kissing his nose, cuddling together and pulling his pants; Knut appears to be such a perfect and fun-loving companion. I do feel something about his small but affectionate gestures...

My sister is such an inconsiderate b****
Seriously, do you ever hate your sibling(s)... I am sure a lot of you do once in a while, or even for some, a long long time. Sometimes you wonder why these people are destined to be in your life, perhaps to pay off a debt in your past life?? Once in a while, you hear other horrifying stories and you thank God your family members are much better. Yet another time, you just wish you can strangle that person so close to you!
As the chinese saying goes “家丑不可外扬”, but hey we're not living in China under old traditions in the 1800s! You share, you hear, you learn... that's what I personally think.
Today my sister, being such an inconsiderate b**** like usual (if that's one in a thousand or million times, that's fine but she's always one!), I really begin to despise her (living with her to be exact). A lot of times I wish I can move out and again be on my own and believe me, I'm already trying very hard looking at many options now.
Let me go through a list of things and tell me how you like living with her under one roof!

A lot of times I wish I can move out and again be on my own and believe me, I'm already trying very hard looking at many options now.
Let me go through a list of things and tell me how you like living with her under one roof!
- Her bags strewn over 3 seats on the sofa in the living room, how is anyone going to sit... if you move her stuff, either you get yelled at or a pinch/a slap/a punch. So move discreetly.
- She doesn't wash up after meals, male servant please wash her dishes. She can't cook, cooking is one thing but at least wash you own dishes please!
- She doesn't do laundry, not to mention she just throws her clothes on top of yours - which is the cause of my infuriation today.
I have separated my clothes from all of theirs usually and unknowingly my mum separated my pants and cardigan into different pails. So happily after her shower, my sister placed her "RED" piece of crap on my favourite cardigan. The color ran and now my cardigan has patches of red, tried to bleach it away and in the end the whole thing is ruined. I always never wanted to wear my precious clothes (including this cardigan) because I know washing at home is a nightmare!! I can never trust anyone to do it except myself :((( I really regret not doing my laundry last night, and now what happened to my favourite cardigan. I really hate living at home and this is one of the few reasons. - She likes to have her things scattered all over and you can't walk over or cross. Again you either get yelled at or exchanged punches (which I have had a few times). Imagine her laying everything on the ground and I can't even go to bed at 1am because we share a bloody room!
- If you share a cupboard with her, it will soon collapse with her junks. Like we used to have a space allocated for our bags, it consisted of 80% her stuff and 20% of mine and she always threw everything out when looking for a particular bag. I'm overwhelmed now we have our own wardrobe!
- She doesn't clean up after her own business (now I mean hygiene), be it toilet or shaving her hairy legs in any part of the house.
- She takes no initiative in keeping the place clean. If she doesn't sweep or mop, it's okay, she can hire a male servant next time. However despite I empty the trash bin regularly in our room, within a day or two, its filled with her trash and she can't be bothered to empty. Now it's piling up like a mountain, I'll see when it will fall over...
- She has a fuckin' foul temper, and if you happened to be there, good luck! She swears at everyone.
- She's just a selfish b****, materialistically she can be kind and occasionally generous. But when it comes to thinking for others, she's just too self-centered.

What I get for working on Labour Day??
Here's some ranting again, but not all that bad lah! Working on a public holiday is like an alien experience. City Hall at 830am is a ghost town, deserted with barely a few people in sight. Let me show you some pictures... before I go on and on about the kinda things I get for working TODAY.
This is actually a photo I wanted to show you of the Singapore-Eye at the right of the picture. (Sorry lah, I name this myself, because its like the London-Eye wat!!), if you like you can call it a Ferris Wheel. Coincidentally, the road is also nearly empty, unlike the usual 830am jammed with "no-ending-in-sight" vehicles and those disturbing horns. Today it is QUIET, only the music of my MP3 ringing in my ears!
As I walked towards my office... Look!! Only 2 more people walking along with me... There is no human racing (Sometimes you see people walking so quickly as if they are on a race with the others!), no "click-clak-click-clak" sound of high heels, no people's backside to watch and trail, no people buying breakfast at Dome (Even Dome is closed!), no sense of rush... which is what I like. NO RUSH! I wish life could be slower...
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed the short pictorial narration... Now back to WHAT I GET FOR WORKING ON LABOUR DAY!! In fact, the answer is nothing, but I'm giving you a list of some meaningless facts and happenings to colorize it ;)
p.s: Giordano has an old stock clearance at Suntec, didn't help the wallet much, I admit I got a linen crop pant at a bargain - S$15 :))
p.p.s: Still considering to get a digital camera and a mobile, both of mine are already dying :(((((

- No overtime pay = No x1.5 = No x2 = No monetary gain!! (OK, I can claim time off)
- No access into my office!!! (My pass is not granted 24/7 access or on weekends & public holidays, so much for being a contract staff)
- Empty seats on the train (On normal days you only have 1-5% chance of sitting!!)
- Lots of Bangladesh & Pakistan workers taking the morning ride with you (I get surrounded by them in the MRT this morning, luckily I've my "medicated oil" else I might faint! No hidden racism here, only commenting about the smell!)
- Rise like an early bird while everyone else is asleep! Channel 5 has generously given us non-stop movies from 10pm last night till late (dawn) and yet... I CAN'T WATCH! :(((((
- Stranded outside the National Library surfing and blogging (Geeez, I forgot Libraries closed on Public Holidays!!)
